That one is budget model with less features. This one is better. iPads have changed so little other than processor updates that this one is still the best Apple Pencil.

I bought 1 at $129 on 11/15, asked Best Buy via chat on 11/25 to price match to $89. Got a refund. Wonder if I should go for the additional $10 now LOL.

$79 is super low cost for a new genuine Apple Pencil.
You can always sell your Gen 1 on eBay or Mercari and use the money to pay for some of the costs of this Gen 2.

Correct—pencil 2 charges on the iPad Air or iPad Pro magnetically and requires no usb dongle. Among the reasons why I bought the iPad Air 5th gen was compatibility with Apple Pencil gen 2.
