Petco refillable buckets with bulk litter. Buckets cost like $14.99 then 30lb refills are $13 more, I'm giving it a shot and seems fine.

I see some recent reviews state the quality of the litter has gotten poor and not same used to to be. 3.6 stars is concerning.

How does this compare to Scoop Away? The one from Costco not Walmart. I can't find anything that works nearly as well as it to keep odors away. Even scooping twice a day doesn't matter for Tidy Cats, Arm & Hammer, Fresh Step in the jugs, etc. They all still let a reeking smell out. I have three cats and two litter boxes kept in the guest bath. Visitors don't smell anything with Scoop away but do with the others. I always ask. Paranoid about stinking. 🤣

Is the scoop away sold at Walmart different than scoop away sold at Costco or something? Personally we usually purchase it from Walmart.

In my experience fresh step has similar, if not better, odor control and less dust. The clumping is slightly better and tracking feels similar. We chose fresh step for our three cats because of less dust.

The one sold at Costco and PetSmart has to use a different formula because it holds scent in really, really well compared to the Walmart version. One is or was called multicat and one is advanced I think? Try the Costco one when it's on sale for 12 bucks and you'll see what I mean.

Why is cat litter so expensive? the price doubled during covid and the shipping container & logistics problems, but the price never came back down. They are taking advantage of everyone. I doubt the cost of labor and raw materials or packaging for making litter rose significantly.

a 35 or 40 pound bucket of clumping used to be 9.99 (Tractor supply, Cats Pride, PetSmart brand, etc) for no name brand/store brand and around $13-16 for name brand (tidy cat, scoop away). the non clumping was 6.99 for 50 pound bag or 4.99 for 25 lb bag.
now, I don't find any for under $20. absolutely insane.

The week of and before black friday, BJs wholesale had 42 pound fresh step clumping litter for 16.99 and a $3 dollar off instant coupon was available to all customers. It was limited to 1 per customer. On black friday and Cyber monday, I went back to buy more. the price for the SAME EXACT Thing went up to 24.99 minus the 3 dollar instant coupon.

Thanks for sharing this deal. I got 1, because the price of litter (and pet food) just continues to go up, but I don't know if this is a good deal or not. I'd like to have these size buckets go back to the 10-15 dollar range, before coupon or promo code. since more people have pets and studies show how much people spend on there pets, I think all the companies are just going crazy with greed and can charge nearly anything. Litter? for $20 bux? WITH a discount or sale? C R A Z Y.
