Looks like T-Mobile is offering a hidden $10 hotspot plan ($15 before Auto pay). This is for consumer and business accounts. It's for BYOD hotspot devices only and connected laptops (so no phones or tablets). Looks like you will have to contact T-Mobile to get this. There will be a $35 activation fee as well. See the attached flyer and link for more info.

Did you get upgraded since your last post?
Well i told them i am not happy cause if i make changes to my account at all it changes the plan and after 23 years i am not happy. and got this reply.

Would you still potentially be interested in adding a different line for mobile internet? I'm more than happy to look into all the options for you!

I replied let me know so will see when they get back to me

Anyone know if this can be converted to an eSIM so I could use it in an iPhone 14/15?

I did it over the phone via T-Mobile Costco CS (833) 428-1765.

Costco membership account number was required along with SSN and driver license number for verification purposes, and not for credit check.
Seems really odd that they would need all that info. For "verification". I mean CC# only need you 3 digit cvc code to verify you are holding the card. I suspect database harvesting again. Selling all your personal data to Intelligence companies is very real. Something weird is up with that level of info gathering...

Is it confirmed this would work on any plan?

I am on the $100 All-In Promo, and T-Mobile has been pretty strict when allowing it to qualify for any special promos.

I also have an Insider discount. Would it apply here too? So in essence, the line would be $8 a month.

No, it's a fairly common practice for postpaid phone services and has been done for years. Postpaid essentially means that they're extending credit to you for services that you then pay for later. So they want the same info that they would have to pull a credit report, even if they don't necessarily pull it. Running up extremely high bills for phone service isn't as common as it was in the days of long distance charges, but there are some charges which can add up (international calls/texts/roaming, etc). They want to be able to collect if someone wants to bail on an unpaid bill.

Here's an article about it from 2013 …

And another one about AT&T from 2009…

The timing of project Hemisphere seems to coincide. Dangle the offer to fill the data. You just verified it in your own way.

Which is why I declined their free one and grabbed one of these off eBay. Going to throw it in my Tesla and cancel premium connectivity for a bit and see how it goes.
you will lose the following 3 features if you cancel premium connectivity:
1. Live Traffic Visualization
2. Sentry Mode - View Live Camera
3. Satellite-View Maps
but u will be able to do the following with the hotspot:
1. Video Streaming**
2. Caraoke
3. Music Streaming**
4. Internet Browser
**A paid subscription to streaming services is required to access music and media streaming

Tmob CSR at local Costco double checked and said $25 GC does not apply as that offer is for data plus voice.

I grabbed a Renewed M2000 from Amazon. I figured it'll be an easy way to return if there are issues.

You can buy replacement batteries for the M2000 as well. I'll have mine plugged in most of the time so I'm guessing nbd. enjoy!

I'm a small business, and the offer codes for small businesses are different.

ZMI30GTI
and
ZMI30GTE

(One is for tax included plans the other is for separate tax plans.)

Update: My small business rep. said they need to sell me a hotspot device to get me on the plan. So they are sending me a Franklin T10 4G hotspot. They put the bill on my business account but are going to give me a line credit each month, so it doesn't cost me anything unless I drop the $10/M plan. I'm not crazy about that, but I also don't plan on dropping the plan, so I'm I guess that's OK.

Again, this is a small business account, not a personal account.
