I returned mine. Detection was horrible and video quality was worse than V3. Will wait for next gen to buy one

Wyze is an American company (Kirkland, WA) that hosts all there services on AWS (another American company). Seriously asking can you provide sources for your claim that video footage from their cameras are routing to China?

I have a bunch of Wyze cams for the inside and have always liked them. Much more responsive than the 10 Arlo cams I use for outside (which have been quite solid, minus delays now and then). So have been interested in Wyze's battery-powered, outdoor options as they come out.

Seems main complaints regard 1. cam not detecting movement at all 2. delayed notifications and 3. lack of local recording to SD (feature "coming soon", apparently). First two complaints are pretty commonplace for battery-powered cams, though that obviously doesn't mean they should be discounted.

All that said, I'll probably sit this one out pending updates. Mostly because I've already spent too much this xmas and Dec just started...and I have too many working Arlos, already

i use these in conjunction with a true POE system

i find their detection/notification better than POE systems which are always recording - so finding the specific point where i want is harder, plus it lets me determine when an activity occurred better than the POE system, but then I switch to my POE system to see the "Full video" once i know the time stamp

Need an outdoor camera to mount near garage to monitor activity in drive way and car break ins. Would the ring floodlight be the best ideal option?

Battery operated cam system generally is junk, miss every important moment.
Wyze is one of the junks
Not sure why down voted. My wired wyze captured action, but not all the action. No problem with 24x7 recording. Just went to the playback.

Battery cams do not record 24x7 so the cops wouldn't be able to see how long they were on the property, what direction they came from and what direction the left in if I had this cam.

I typically don't defend Wyze but for others reading your comments…this camera can record continuously with the latest firmware released a couple months ago. You will be swapping batteries a lot, plugging in power, or using solar to do it though.

Showing $35 shipping for me this morning after sleeping in this deal. 🫤

Edit… not shipping but delivery. Looks like shipping option is gone so either pickup in store or delivery by store for $35

Continuous recording was enabled in a firmware update.

Had a great experience with 1st gen Wyze, still have and use 4 of those.
Based on that, over time we bought 2 gen 2 cam pans and 1 gen 3 cam.
-all 3 devices died inexplicably in a short amount of time
-each instance, time of death was just outside return window
-wyze offered no recourse or remedy despite extensive back and forth

So in my view all their new products now may be e-waste.

And that's just the physical product-- as mentioned there are privacy violations & other known issues with the company.

Surprisingly military discount is working for this, they usually exclude special buys
