I bought this and realized that it has exactly the same ingredients as the normal oxiclean except for the fragrance.

Actually worth it? Or just one of those useless things? Actually good for machines? What about machines that won't run if they detect there are no clothes in it?

My front loading washer has a specific tub wash cycle and instructs me to either use products such as this or regular bleach. It is meant to clean the tub and gaskets. So far I haven't really seen the difference between bleach or products, so I'll probably just use bleach to save some money and shelf space. I clean my machine pretty regularly though so I don't really notice any buildup.

I just throw a cup of Oxyclean detergent and a scoop of citric acid in the basin and hit the "clean" cycle. Way cheaper and smells nicer.

Citric acid is all you need. A quarter cup once a month and hit the clean mode. It gets the element hot and citric acid eats calcium on the element away.

This is a waste of money. Tried it and the drainage water was crystal clean. And I never cleaned my washer for over 10 years

i've seen this said for a lot of cleaning stuff, do you have recommendations on where / how to buy citric acid in bulk? and what kind of quantity would you recommend buying at once?

Affresh doesn't smell anything remotely fresh. It has a weird chemical smell, almost body odor. Buy this.
