It's been this price for the last month or so.

Note - they include the butter as part of the 2lbs so the cost of the crab legs are slightly more than $20 per lb.
The trick to the Sam's crab legs of any kind is to steam them. The instructions usually say serve cold or to boil but boiling makes the meat taste like mush.

Get a big soup pot, fill up about a quarter of the pot, get the water boiling then put the crab legs in and cover with lid. Turn down heat so it's barely simmering and leave it that way for a bit.

Every time I've steamed them this way it's removed most of the salt taste but not too much and the meat has come out easily and tasting perfect.

Again, you're not covering the crab legs, just the lower portion(the white cluster area) with water. The goal is to steam, not boil.

Many times trial and error before finding this is the best way. No more issues of meat sticking to the shell or coming out in pieces.
I weighed them last time and it was a bit over 2lbs without the butter.

I have bought this 5x already. You just need to look inside the bag and make sure you're buying large solid pieces Or else it's not worth it. Butter is also good. Never notice it being salty
I don't notice it either, but I don't notice it with a lot of my everyday foods

Not sure why you'd get down voted for this. I think it's great you care and there is a massive shortage of crab legs both Alaskan and king due to over harvesting right now. Eventually they'll all be gone.

That said, it's in the best interest of the fishermen who go out for these that the numbers stay healthy or it'll be a very short term career for them.

So you can't really say "don't eat crab legs". Rather you should and encourage others to verify where and who is providing. If it means that much to you.

Climate change is the issue. Ocean temps are impacting them, especially snow crabs.

These are super salty, it's on sale for a reason and not a good one!
They cook the crab immediately and brine with salt to prevent the meat from spoiling. When you purchase, you're supposed to rinse and bath them.

Why am I picturing a bunch of live crabs dancing around and snapping their claws in a bathtub with 3 inches of water because y'all talking about bathing the crab legs. 🦀🦀🦀
