For the down voter, and whoever else would downvote a first comment like this, know they did not make a comment. They literally made a deal post, but were not the first to post it. When the Slickdeals mods see two identical threads made close together they merge them (might even be automatic). Whoever posted the deal first becomes the deal poster and the other deal post becomes a comment.
What about quality of the post? I'm so glad you asked! The mods clean up the post and help by adding links and pics. That's why almost all the front page and popular deal posts look nice, clean, and similar. It also makes it look easier than it actually is. That is totally not the default, and just try making a new deal post if you don't believe me.
