In addition to good customer service, Tello has great flexibility if you want to bump up to a higher data plan for just one month, then drop back down. Plus if you manually renew a day early, the unused data will roll to the next month.
Also, Helium mobile has $20/month unlimited plan.
Lastly, if you still want to get your monthly phone bill lower, you can go to costco and get the $10/month T-Mobile hotspot plan, and a $5/month hello mobile basic plan, use both in a dual sim phone, so you can get unlimited data/calling/text at $15/month.
If you don't need unlimited plan, as of now I think the ultra mobile 3GB monthly plan for $10/month is the best. Please note that it doesn't include the tax and other fees, so it will be about $12 per month actually.
However, the slow data after blowing through your allotment is now gone.

The other new change with Tello is that they are ending unlimitted throttled data after you use up your allotment in all except the highest tier plan.
It used to be, you could be on the lowest data plans (I had 512 MB until recently), and after the data was used to 512 MB at LTE full speeds, I could then use unlimited data at throttled speed. But Tello is taking that away from all but the highest tier.
Thumbs down.

Ultra mobile currently has 3GB monthly plan on sale. Just check their website. https://www.ultramobile
There have been other problems though and customer service is useless, so i'm not sure I recommend the service. We are trying to stick it out to get the iPhone 12 unlocked, but will then move away.

Any unused minutes or data will be lost after 30 days, when your plan is automatically renewed.
Once your plan is renewed automatically, your plan starts again with the fixed monthly allowance of minutes & data.
There is one exception:
Unused service WILL roll over ONLY if you manually renew or change your plan at least 24 hours before the end of your current billing cycle and ONLY if the new plan contains all the services that you previously had. For example, the minutes & data of your current plan will roll over if the new plan has minutes & data. However, if you decide to buy data only, the minutes will not roll over.
