So Disney "ruins" Star Wars by making things that are in demand more readily available?
Cheapest complete at Sabeforge is like $250 and Vaders Vault is $800+ so not sure what you're talking about here.
You can get custom sabers that are far better for far cheaper. Saberforge and Vaders Vault are two I've heard of, but there's a bunch out there. Just don't go to Ultrasabers, they're pretty reviled.

That's subjective, because it depends on why you're getting one. If you are a collector, and want to display the hilts/sabers that belonged to legacy characters.... a custom saber won't help much. But if you're cosplaying/LARPing, and actively sparring with them, then yes custopm is absolutely the way to go.
Hmm I consider myself somewhat of a SW fan, that is before Disney destroyed the franchise, but since when Leiah had a lightsaber?
in Episode 9, they do a flash back to her training with Luke after Jedi and she had her own Saber. It was dropped in stores the same day Episode 9 released in theaters.
I have to say if you are going to buy a lightsaber and spend this amount get one off of ali express. I own one of those Sabers from FX, it was my first one and I thought it was awesome. But later I started buying Sabers off of Ali and my gosh they are a thousand times better.
Buy from X-TREXSABER store, I feel like they have the best price and quality. You will want to get a pixel blade (it has little LEDs throughout the blade and is much brighter than a baselit one which is basically a flashlight that shines up through the blade.) there are a few versions of the pixle, pixle V3 ($80-120), pixel V4 ($90-140) and Proffie Pixel ($180-250). Obviously the Proffie is the best, looks and sounds the best, has the best blade animations, but the V3 and V4 are still amazing. I own all of them including a few baselit ones and I have to say getting any pixel set up is the way to go, you will be over the moon. You feel like a jedi! It sounds so good and at night feels so cool. Spend the same amount of money on the good stuff, and you will never regret it!
Anyone have any opinions on making the stupid expensive one at Disney World? Worth it? The geek in me wants to convince myself to do it.
We did it for a kids birthday. The experience was amazing as my wife is a theatre major. The kids enjoyed it but she loved the whole experience. The experience was cool, but I would rather pay for VIP experience and cutting all lines than do the lightsaber event for 4 people.
We had a group of 7-10 I can't remember how many sabers were bought.
I as more pragmatic, would have just bought a used one on ebay or mercari. I am selling mine, my brother and his kids probably don't use it, but they aren't real Star Wars fans.
If you're handy and can solder, Just build one with found parts you have around you like a true Jedi. I guarantee it will be something unique that you'll keep forever. Whatever soundboard you choose, make sure it has smoothswing. Pixel blades are really cool, but I've since moved on. I'd get the Leia since it's one of the nicest designs, but I'm not really into collecting, but rather making things.

Building your own at Disney is an experience worth it if you are a Star Wars fan. I did it this past spring, and despite being a jaded 50 year old, I really got into the whole ceremony and trappings of the event.
You can get other customs from places, even design your own with parts. But the entire process at Disney makes it a really cool thing to do.
Came across a lightsabers subreddit and found a lot of similar models on ali express for $50
Those are empty else. They have no electronics (sounds and lights) in them. They are for either pure stunt dueling, or to add your own electronics and so forth.

You are paying for a show.
Admittedly, the show can actually be pretty cool, especially when you finish building the lightsaber and you "plug" it into the console before the reveal...
However it is pricey, there is no warranty (it was a show which comes with goodies VS buying a product that promises a certain level of fit and finish) and the magnetic strip inside the switch mechanism is prone to failure.
If you are a Star Wars fan and want to EXPERIENCE this "show" just buy ONE (your friends/family can stand behind you) and enjoy it.
If you are looking for a collectible item or a durable toy this is overpriced for the quality.
Saber features:
Rather thick handle, not as wieldy as an analogous "sword"
Removable blade, customizable (you can swap out crystals, $20~25 per extra crystal) blade colors and very faithful sound effects.
Slashing and thrusting with the blade activated make the intended sounds; stopping the blade mid-swing or thrust triggers the classic KRSH! saber clash sound

J-Dogg has me very interested. Can anyone else verify the sabers from Ali X-TREXSABER store? Definitely interested but hesitant. Thank you for bringing it to light…saber. I do appreciate it.

Looking at their website now, it's really confusing. Which ones would be Ashoka's or Rey's (looking for a gift for my daughter).
I'm a novice here. What does "framed" mean in this context. Like, maybe, accused based on false or planted evidence? Lots of stuff comes from Asia. I only want to know what stuff is the best quality.

Like you have a poster on your wall but it's in a picture frame. Asia is a nerdy band and the reference is from the movie, 40 Year Old Virgin.

I'm a sixty year old and huge Star Wars fan. My wife took me on my birthday. I may have been the oldest person in the room 😂 , but I enjoyed the entire experience immensely! Highly recommend.
