Details (from the product page):

Rotisserie grilling is favored by many cooks because this slow method of cooking bastes the meat as it turns, resulting in a moist, delicious roast. The Dyna-Glo DG4WB deluxe universal rotisserie kit comes with universal brackets that will fit most gas. A 34.4" (87.4cm)spit rod with a 6.6" (16.8cm) extension and two heavy gauge 4-prong spit forks keep your roast securely in place. The 4 watt motor and counterbalance ensure consistent rotation for even cooking of roasts up to 26 lbs. (11.8 kgs.) Dishwasher safe for easy cleanup.
  • Fits most gas grills with firebox width of up to 32'' (81.3cm)
  • 34.4" spit rod with a 6.6" extension
  • Two heavy gauge 4-prong spit forks
  • 4 watt motor and counterbalance

I've always wanted one of these...resist resist resist. I don't think it will work on my grill though, it's an offset smoker without any kind of slots or holes for the spit rod to poke through. Anyone else have any experiences with using these? I'm curious considering I've never seen anyone with them or heard anyone talk about them but half the propane grills have cut outs for them.

If you have something to mount the ends to. Wood might work as a cheap solution, if you don't have a large fire. I'd make some kind of A-frame structure with a board to hold the two together. You could probably do something like a pair of cheap indoor hinges so you can pull the pins out to disassemble.

Almost pull the trigger. I'll stick with the $5 rotisserie from Costco.

I have this and love it, but it took some getting used to. A full size chicken takes right at 2 hours on a hot grill. I supplement the included forks with some steel skewers to stabilize things as it shrinks.

The kit is adjustable, so if your grill has the cutouts for a rotisserie it will probably work. I would not recommend it for use without the motor as no matter how hard you try, the bird is always a little bit off balance, so it tends to slump in that direction (hence the moderately effective counterbalance weight included). No, it will not work with a smoker without some drilling and cutting.

Edit: have also used it for a ribeye roast and it was extremely effective.

Not sure if /whoosh, but I believe he was referring to the $5 rotisserie chicken.
