This was $2.11 after coupons, s&s, and extra discounts in June 2021. .....I know I know eeeeeeeenflayshun
I have plaque build up on my lower teeth in four days time that a toothbrush and floss cant remove because I wear retainers. I find it hard to believe I cant carefully scrape it off with the broad side of one of these instead of going to a dentist once a week or allowing the plaque to build up until a dentist removes it at a twice a year cleaning.

I paid low $2's also, no coupons or anything. Genuine question for you both: Why does Camel Carmel Camal not show it barely breaking below $5?

I was able to get it for $3.82 including sub and save 15%.
I bought this kit at Walmart about a year ago. I know it was probably not more than $11 at the time. Probably less. I price compared heavily and it was the cheapest including next to Target. However, online WM is showing only 3rd party sellers right now. I'm assuming that's not accurate.
The kit had excellent reviews there and was a good price. It was my first kit like this and I liked it. The price here is excellent for it!

I was raised in a family with no health insuranceeminding me to floss.....telling me I appear to be the type of person who carries floss in their pocket always and that whatever I am doing keep up the great work. My wife brushes her teeth 3 times a day and flosses nightly.....much better oral hygiene than me......and she fillings, cracked tooth, etc.... she is jealous.....at age 46 just proves how genes and oral bacteria is such a big factor in oral care.
Why don't you share some of those favorable oral bacteria with your wife?

I bet at least one person will get addicted to smelling the pick and scaler after using it.

Usually means you are not brushing and flossing properly. Build up is calcified/hardened plaque that has been allowed to accumulate on your teeth over time (usually takes days to harden). Daily brushing and flossing removes plaque / disrupts and prevents this process.
Not to say you will not be able to remove some of the build up with this scaler. These scalers are not sharp enough to thoroughly remove build up.
As an untrained individual, you could/might injure yourself in the process, as the previous dentist warned.

The reason for having your wisdom teeth removed is because when they grow in fully it can mess up the alignment of the teeth which are already there. I had mine removed at 17. Best thing I ever did for my mouth because they were growing in at a 90 degree angle 😬 could you imagine how smashed and crooked my teeth would have been? Besides I've heard that it's painful.
It actually has to do with human evolution and diet.
One of the most common reason is that the human mandible has evolved to be smaller/shorter (in comparison to primates). In most cases, not enough room for all 32 teeth. As the last teeth to develop and come out, wisdom teeth or third molars commonly are "stuck" as there is not enough room for them. The term is "impacted." This can cause severe issues such as damage to the tooth in front. Other times, they are partially out leading to pain from the infected and swollen gum that is partially covering the molar. It is best to have a dentist determine at mid to late teenage years whether or not to remove wisdom teeth as it is the best time to remove these.

As a dentist this is a bad idea. If you don't know proper technique you can really hurt yourself and cause injury that will heal back differently. If you are determined to get this then please be careful.

Same happens to me, also due to the permanent retainer. And various dentists have advised it can be pretty normal for the buildup there due to the ducts being right there and pooling the area, making it turn to plaque incredibly quicker than anywhere else in the mouth. And the retainer doesn't help in trying to remove before it gets hard. So, I've been using this kit for about a decade now. I don't get to the point as if I had a complete cleaning done, but I can scrape off a decent bit. I just work enough to be able to get a thread flosser through. As long as you have common sense, there is no reason you'd mess something up, as some of these comments say. Every time I've had teeth checked, no kind of damage found.
