People think nothing of ballpoint, rollerball, and felt tip pens, to say nothing of Sharpies, dry erase markers, and non-permanent markers, plus paper, post it notes and (dare I say it) wrapping paper.

So now we're going to get upset about decent writing instruments that are priced so people can try out an interesting pen or a different ink using about the amount of plastic found in the packaging discarded with a breakfast yogurt or soda bottle.

I can only think of the people using this disposable pen as lazy, selfish people.
Assuming you're not trolling, I can only assume you never use a common disposable Bic pen or promo freebie pen given out by businesses all over town. Throwaway beverage containers and food packaging are right out.

Unless i need it at the moment and have no other options, i don't. I also carry my tote bag to grocery stores. i use plastics like everyone else, but minimize single use plastics as much as i can.
I daresay the majority have no real concept of a refillable pen. Compared to the volume of trash from other sources, these are a trivial minority. It has been a few weeks since I tossed a disposable pen.

Fountain pens are easy to maintain and should be working for a long time. Disposable fountain pens sound like a huge waste...

It should come as a fountain pen/shirt combo…you're gonna need a clean shirt.

How do these compare to pilot varsity? I love those pens.
It's funny the people questioning disposable fountain pens, aren't most pens disposable?
I am a regular fountain pen user and I mostly use and love my Franklin Christoph pens and refill them. However I like the disposable ones for times when I don't want to risk damaging my good pens, for example camping or out and about on the farm.

How could they keep the ink so long in these pens without dried up? I am using Pilot pen with the Parker botle of ink bought on AMZ. I use the Pilot pen with CON-40 converter and the ink dried up pretty quick even no using, no leaking. The bottle seems fine, not like when it fills in the pen.

These are actually pretty good for carrying an extra round of someone wants to try your fountain pen that way they don't break or bend the tines on your really expensive pen You can let them try one of these or if you have to go to a place that you're not sure you don't want your good pens damaged or stolen. These are refillable to a point to there's YouTube videos so if you wanted to try an ink if you're not sure how it would perform and not want to ruin or clog up your expensive pens these are good too. I use to take cheaper ones when I traveled so I never lost them and if I did I was only had a couple of bucks versus several hundred

I have multiple left-handed children. Practically nothing with ink works for them when writing a left-to-right language.
Try pentel energel. They dry nearly instantly and don't smudge

I got these because last time I saw a deal on SD for a fountain pen it was the cross and that didn't come with ink, I couldn't find ink cartridges for it anywhere for a long time, then when I did, I didn't like the fine point of the pen since it's scratchy to write with it and doesn't produce the calligraphy like writing I wanted from a fountain pen. These disposables are supposedly 'medium' nib, but are also not smooth to write with and also a pretty fine point imho. Where can I find a fountain pen that has a nice fat point for producing more of a calligraphy type result?
