Not trying to be smart but you'll know when you need one. If you have to ask then most likely you don't. I, and many others, have asked the same.

These are dedicated riding computers. You can link speed, cadence, heart rate, power, radar sensors and even a Garmin headlight to read/be controlled by this. It has a long battery life for century/multi century rides. Fastens securely to handlebars. Is compact. A phone battery will drain with GPS on longer rides. Also won't connect to all those sensors. A watch can track and connect with some, but will definitely die on longer rides. These are the main advantages of a cycling computer. This is a great deal on it.

Huge battery drainer on the phone. It isn't terrible but a dedicated bike computer is preferred by me especially for long rides and lot of use. I am stickler when it comes to battery life for electronic devices.
100% this alone makes it worthwhile…. 30+ miles on a ride and my phone isn't going to make it.

Ordered one, but received a smashed, ripped and retaped package box. Upon opening, the box was empty except some packaging paper inside. Put complaint in to eBay, will see how they make right.

I bought the Karoo 2 from an earlier SD this year and I love it! If you research both options you'll find the Karoo 2 is a better device in most categories except for advanced training metrics and battery life. Also, Karoo gets an insane amount of updates.
Thank you.

I have one and it's awesome. I do mountain bike bike racing , but frequently don't get a chance to preride the course. It has a pretty neat feature that tells you of the more extreme spots you need to be a little more cautious of your speed. Also battery lasts a long time. You can find all sorts of courses and do turn by turn. The sensors and stats you can connect are awesome. Definitely recommend it.

I got mine, the only strange thing is no tape on Garmin box like you would expect, but unit seems brand new. Set it up and going for a ride tonight. No idea how to use it really but should be able to get it to at least track my route.

The battery is rechargeable? User replacing isn't very difficult if you're comfortable with tiny screws but Garmin is very good on fixing these even out of warranty.
Underrated comment. Garmin support is insanely good. The screen started delaminating on my 3 year old out of warranty 530. They didn't ask for pictures, or anything at all, they just sent me a box to return it, and sent me a new unit.

I have 10+ Garmin products, not a single one is sealed or have sign being sealed before.

Bought a forerunner 945 from buydig eBay last week. Price dropped $40 the next day, messaged in for a refund. First they said no, but we can refund $10. I said that doesn't sound fair, listing says free refunds so would they prefer I repurchase and just send the first watch back? They came back and offered $20 off. I said no thanks, I'll just send the first watch back and reorder. Then they "had to check for management approval" for the full amount. Another day goes by and they agree. Meanwhile this whole time they've uploaded a fake tracking number that hasn't been picked up/shown any movement for 8 days. Requested a full refund and now they're ghosting me.

Buyer beware.
This company is trash. I've dealt with Buydig before, years ago. Never again, IDC how cheap they sell stuff for.

Tempted to upgrade from my edge 705. Does this have actual buttons? I use mine for mountain biking and keeping track of the mileage I put on my bikes.
