FYI, the S24 series is supposed to be announced next month. Google Fi should have similar deals on the S24 series, like they did on the S23 at launch. I think the launch S23 deals were even better than the deal listed in this post.

The cheapest is the $20 Flexible Plan (unlimited talk/text, any Data used is $10 per GB, prorated). The taxes & fees usually add another $6-$7 a month. Percentage wise that sounds high, but some of the fees are fixed-amounts per line so they skewed the percentage. Some people in Texas have taxes & fees as high as $10 each month.

I did the Fi pre-release S23 deal in Feb this year. My S23 (with free upgrade to 256GB) was $299.99. So it was better than this deal. Plus the trade-in values at that time was great. I traded in an iPhone11 for $310 which pretty much offset the cost of the S23. My net cost was $27 in sales tax on $299.99, minus the $10 in excess credit.

The S23 deal was pulled at noon 1/17/24 when the S24 deal became available. https://slickdeals.net/f/17239057-select-existing-google-fi-customers-256gb-samsung-galaxy-s24-ultra-unlocked-650-min-120-days-service-activation-req?page=1#commentsHeader

Ordered 3 S23s, but first shipment was delayed, nothing shipped after delivery dates have passed. Contacted Google and was told the phones are ready, please wait. Google went ahead and charged my card. 2 days later now my orders are cancelled. Customer Service sucks!!! I switched to Google Fi for the phone deal. What a bait and switch!

When did you ordered your S23 phones? The S23 deal is now still available but the discount is a lot less (only $100). The S24 would be cheaper. Also, you ordered 3 S23's, was that for a group plan or a single-member plan?

I ordered them on the 15th on a new group plan. Yes, looks like you can order S23 on the site again but @ $700 apiece. And yes, customer service suggested me to buy 3 S23 again for $2,100 and then contact them for original discounts. That's crazy and I think that almost qualify as false advertising. If they still have S23s to sell @ $700, how can they cancel my $300 orders!

If T-mobile meets our cellular needs, will Google Fi do the same?

Google Fi uses T-Mobile network, so coverage are the same but supposedly with lower priority than T-Mobile customers. With 4/5G, I haven't experienced any real issue. If you don't need coverage in Canada and Mexico, Mint is a cheaper option and also uses T-Mobile network. I know several people on Mint for over a yr without issues - no worse than T-Mobile. I will add Google Fi coverage and speed were fine, but its customer service is much worse than T-Mobile, and T-Mobile CS isn't great. That should be something to consider.

Good info. The main reason to switch is discounted phones. There would be a small monthly savings over Tmobile for me, but it's almost a wash.

Rather than taking that risky route, I think it's better to go for the S24 deal if you're qualified. Newer model, and free upgrade to 256GB (offer good through 1/31/24) for $350 each phone.

Thanks, but I'll wait. I have enough BS from Google.

I went with a Fi deal for an S22. Been on the Network for nearly a year. Ready to switch because you can't hold a call while driving. Being that they rent service from T-Mobile and others, the tower signals don't connect without interruption. Don't expect to go more than a block or two before call drops if you are driving regretfully.
