Pixel 5 is my favorite pixel of all time but it's not getting security updates anymore... P8 is not a bad upgrade/compromise. You lose the rear fingerprint scanner but the face unlock is pretty good. You also go down in battery life but the SoC is substantially faster. Camera is also noticeably better especially in low light. The P6 and P7 were terrible due to large size, no face unlock, and worse battery life.
$759 - 40% ($303.60) = $455.40
10% back from Google One membership is $45.54
Pixel 6a trade in is $220
So the final price will be $239 (plus local taxes) with the Google Store credit as well for a future purchase... I am satisfied with this deal.
