got this set a couple of years back. while not your extreme top of the line speakers, they are worth the price.

I just spent $1500+ on a full set from Klipsch including atmos, but looking at this jamo has be rethinking it.

There is a big difference. I believe in buy once cry once. Get the right one that you want and get the most you can afford. And don't have to lose on resale and change out etc.

How do you setup a room with these? I know that seems like a stupid question but, if the couch is touching a back wall and the tv is on another wall facing you, you obviously put the tall standing speakers on both sides of the tv stand. And the center speaker on top of the tv stand.
Where do the bookshelf speakers go? Are they meant to be rear speakers on both sides of the couch you're on? How do you avoid big wires running down away from the tv and to the couch?

Edit: for context, my current & very cheap setup has a subwoofer that plugs into the outlet by my couch, wirelessly connecting to the soundbar under the tv. And then the 2 rear speakers plug into the subwoofer! so all the cables at the rear are under the couch...
In a 5 speaker arrangement, the bookshelf speakers would be Side speakers, conventionally recommended to be placed directly to the Left/Right or slightly further behind. (Think of a triangle between your TV, your head, and the speaker to your side. The angle formed at your head would be between 90 and 115 degrees).

I've solved the wiring problem in a few ways: going around the perimeter of the room (so relatively long lengths of speaker wire) tucked under baseboard; rugs over the wires, or--in one ambitious arrangement--up to the drop ceiling, across the top of the room, then back down the wall behind the TV. 14/16 AWG speaker wire can be pretty thin, so it's not incredibly noticeable under decently thick rugs.

I have a pioneer Andrew Jones set that I generally don't have issues with. I mostly watch movies and play some games. Are these worth upgrading? I guess what I'm asking is will I notice an immediate difference? Thanks for any input.

Audiophiles,
Could someone give an advice on:
This or Sony SSCS3?
Need mostly setup for HT and some music.
Is there a set of the Sony SSCS3 for this price?

So I own these except I don't have the surround speakers. But the fronts and center sound fantastic. I love them. I'm sad I can't get this deal now because I paid about $330 just for the towers and center speaker

Looking for sound system for 300 sq. ft basement which has 135" Projector Screen. Not sure which one to get for the money and quality..
This or Klipsch or Samsung 11.1 HW-Q990Bs?

Considered HW-Q990Bs since less hassle to setup..

Any suggestions?

Sorry for the dumb question, but since quite few folks here have this bundle, would having receiver and sub with it be enough for a comprehensive home theater setup? I already have Polk Audio PSW10 sub and Yamaha TSR-7850R receiver gathering dust, so thought I'd find some use for it.
Yes. With the added Polk sub, it would do just fine as a 5.1. I have a 5.2.2 setup with these as the 5 in a dedicated theater space and they do just fine.

1. Kind of. Both brands are part of the same company.
2. Mids and highs good. Lows terrible. None of the speakers in the package are made for low end.

I just need the 809 but they are only $50 less. Not sure what I'd do with the other speakers since I already have them.

I also got this setup a few years ago, it has been a great starter kit for me. I had the Jamo sub but it got the death thump, I run a Klipsch R-100SW sub now which was a definite upgrade. I use an Onkyo tx-nr686 receiver that I absolutely have zero complaints about
I have an older Onkyo and am considering this set. Could you please tell me how what your volume level is on the receiver typically, for playing movies loud and for normal tv? I have mine typically around 45 for tv much more for movies. Did you compare to any other speakers? Thanks
