Yup. All these people freaking out clearly have not got in enough "sold and shipped by Amazon" deals and it shows.

A lot more drama there with an account claiming to be HeyBike saying they never sold these bikes to Amazon and that any price under $500 (including shipping) won't be honored.

There's clearly something going on here. Amazon wouldn't be likely to have a huge error selling stock under "Amazon.com" as official seller unless they already had the stock or had an agreement with HeyBike to sell their inventory.

Still doubt we'll see these bikes unfortunately...
Heh 😂
Which is more likely to be a "scammer" Amazon.com, one of the world's largest retailers, or Heybike? 🤔
It's just hilarious that they think it's okay to sell their products on Amazon, while claiming that Amazon itself tries to scam customers 🙄
Whether or not customers actually receive the items, Amazon will rectify the situation, like always.

It's entirely possible that Amazon has a contract with another entity, for example a large bike shop in California, in which case Heybike wouldn't be dealing with Amazon directly, and yet the products would still be "sold by Amazon." I have received several products "sold by and shipped from Amazon" which were sent directly to me from a distributor. Heybike doesn't seem to understand anything about e-commerce.

HeyBike adds the image to the listing when they aren't the seller. It's only gone because the item is no longer available as sold and shipped by Amazon.

If you don't believe me, check out the deal on the Rattan e-bike that ran simultaneously with this one. The LM750 with Basket option for $411.05 and sold by Amazon is the only one with that image.

It could be that it takes a while for them to remove/ update the listing.

Interestingly, I suppose all this basically confirms that Rattan, HeyBike, and Mukkpet (and probably several others) are actually just the same company behind the scenes?

It's just speculation, but I was thinking it could be this e-bike company (likely all one) trying to raise their sales to increase their stock value or a marketing ploy. It's definitely not Amazon. They would have too much to lose. But then again maybe these bikes are on a ship that's on its way to the USA right now, and will be delivered some time between December and January. I want to wait, and see how this plays out.

Is it plausible that UPS needs special arrangements for a 90lb delivery that also hasa huuuge battery? That's a 2 man delivery or maybe a special e-boxtruck. Do UPS trucks even have a passenger seat for 2nd worker?
I'm thinking each one of these can't be delivered the normal UPS way, which is why HeyBike/Mukkpet said it's $200 extra for delivery.

If these do get shipped, it's probably 800billion-pound-gorilla Amazon making UPS do some sorta magic to get these to us.

Shipping such large lithium batteries requires making the shipment "hazmat."
Incidentally, just trying to return a battery creates the same problem. I had a faulty Juiced battery, and the local FedEx location couldn't even accept it. FedEx also couldn't do a residential pickup for a hazmat package. I ended up needing to drive like 30 minutes and drop it off at the main FedEx Ground depot. I assume UPS is probably similar in this respect.

Considering Heybike is selling these bikes directly on Amazon (sold and shipped by HeyBike) for $399, there seems to be some inconsistency between what they do and what they say. I'd trust Amazon over HeyBike in this scenario.

My question is really about why this is happening in the first place. The fraud argument is weak b/c it's sold and shipped by Amazon. And the fact that this has been going on a few days indicates it's probably not a price mistake. Curious where Amazon is coming up with this inventory across several manufacturers.

I thought shipped and sold by Amazon means it's in a Amazon warehouse and Amazon owns the item and fulfillment is by Amazon. The money would go straight to Amazon's piggy bank.

I heard Amazon co-mingles items like sd cards which can be fake but ebikes is a abother level.
