When I returned it, it was a pain. They don't pay for the return shipping label, Amazon sends you one where you have to pay for it yourself. I drove to FedEx to have them tell me that, an also, that particular one cannot store batteries (only a few can, even the dedicated FedEx stores) so I couldn't drop it off there. It was a pain, but it gave me time to complain to HeyBike and they sent me a prepaid shipping label. FedEx picked it up. It was a headache, but at this price, I may buy it again and hope it works out this time.
I did ride it a bit before I returned it, it did get up to 20mph and up hills, about 10mph. It was pretty fun. I do like the removable battery aspect of it, can store it inside during winters.
This is a price that you cannot beat. I wanted the Lectric XP 3.0 but at $1000, it's more than what I'm willing to spend for an ebike that doesn't have much utility for me right now.

I'm riding this out until mid January, when they originally said they'd be delivered as I checked out. It's worth the $1 in interest I'd have earned on the $230.
Relax and enjoy the holidays. Amazon once has a price mistake on 10 boxes of disposable gloves that they priced as a single box. It took 4 months, but they still sent them. No reason not to wait til the initial delivery estimate and see what shakes out.
Generating the UPS labels has the Amazon system showing delivery dates that reflect a normal estimated transit time. I order a lot and I've seen this many times, it doesn't mean anything until UPS picks it up. Chat reps don't have any actual information, ever. I'm going to gamble $1 in interest that Dark Lord Bezos pays out.
I agree, I will also wait as long as possible. It's the middle of winter and spring will be here soon. No problem here
I thought I would post my results. I chated with the Amazon support for a refund and credit to repurchase the bike. I was told I could reorder and do a proce adjustment after the fact because to reorder its 399 plus 120 shipping. I escalated to a supervisor and he was able to refund the 247 for the bike and give me 250 promotion credit. That was more than I expected to happen, I was thinking maybe a 50 dollar gift card for the trouble.
Good luck to everyone

How is this not helpful? Just because you take what amazon feeds you and get nothing. Get bent if you don't like it.
Now off to find another ebike. I'd head to Best Buy if the promo credit weren't strictly for Amazon. Maybe run the current bike into the ground and buy some career- or household-related things I already know I will need? Decisions, decisions...
If it shows, then that's a big win for us that got in on the deal. If not the money will be refunded likely with a bit of credit.. Better than what any bank would give in interest. This is not a losing situation when it settles out.
I reached out to chat this morning and they offered me the refund and $50 for the hardship. I denied the offer and mentioned I am looking for the bike and not a refund. Then it was a radio silence for a long time and then the agent came back and said she can offer me $171 which is the variance with the current price (400-229). I denied that option as well because of the $120 shipping cost. Then after a while she upped it to $291 including the shipment cost. I then talked through to convert the promo credit to amazon GC because promo credit could be applied only on Amazon purchase. Since Heybike is the seller now the promo credit couldn't be applied there. So overall I got $541 GC - which was the original price + tax + the GC. Good luck you'll.

The day after my delivery date (the 21st) and they would then talk to
Me about a refund and credit.
