Yea that's also 3x the cost. Is that what we do here now just show people how poor they are? Lmao

Shocking that u could find something 3xs the price that is marginally better than what OP posted.

Just cause it's the same model doesn't make it a direct comparison unless it was the same price or at least CLOSE.

Needless to say do we really need to point out the fact that "gaming" is a term that's been loosely thrown around the tech world for decades?

Just not sure how posting a link to something 3xs the cost with a dedicated gpu is in anyway helpful in a post for something with integrated graphics. Same model or not I'm just not seeing the comparison.

They marketed this as a gaming laptop but put integrated gpu in it. The 3050 Ti, which was used on the previous gen, is miles better and yet the GPU is not regarded as powerful by any means. No wonder why they aren't getting any sales.

The real deal is the unit with 4070 & 32GB [bestbuy.com] but it's ridiculously priced for what it is. It would be a great deal at mid $1k mark IMHO.
You can find the 3050ti laptop on open box sales or even used for around the same price on Best buy/eBay. I would highly suggest that with the 6900HS model w/ 3050ti (2022 edition) which has the MUX switch. Turn that on and you are in fully integrated GPU mode which makes this a killer 2 in 1 gaming and multi media machine. Pair it with G-Helper open source app for a quick mode silent to turbo mode switching.

Loved this Asus laptop so much I snagged the more powerful zephyrus G16 w/ RTX 4060 which also did not disappoint.

Shop smart and enjoy your gadgets! Smilie

Radeon 780M in itself is not terrible- it's just terrible as your only option in an $800+ device. If this was closer to $500-600 I would say it's maybe a good deal.

Except that negates the fact that this laptop is also a 2in1 with touch screen. What other 13in laptop that has a 780M (or comparable discreet or integrated) has these two features? Got to view this laptop as a package deal and not just see it for one of its features or lack thereof. I'd say the price is very fair for its uniqueness and which is why I bought it in a heartbeat to replace my 13in HP spectre. As long as a 13-in 2in1 exists like this I will never go back to an Intel based laptop with their lousy integrated graphics only good for Excel sheets (I'm exaggerating).

if I was a gamer needing to run those latest games looking for an ultra portable I would probably just get the g14 and not even look at these x series .

The HP Pavilion you linked in its base config has Intel Xe graphics, which would offer half the FPS compared to the 780M in the OP. Looking closer at that slick deal you linked - there's a very affordable option to upgrade to a 3050, which is impressive.

However, this OP ROG Flow is a 2-in-1, which seems to be the form factor most ppl in this thread are after.
And unless I'm missing this detail, the HP linked doesn't even have a touch screen.

I have the 2022 model with the 3050 ti. It was also 800 last year and it's been great. This one looks like a downgrade for gaming though.
Would it be an upgrade in battery life?

Damn i rather have last gen with the 3050ti when it was same price
The last Gen was a great computer. I had one until it was stolen last month. Idk how they got all that stuff into a <3lb 2 in 1. I ended up with an Asus M16 and while it's very different (bigger, heavier, no touchscreen) the bigger screen real estate and more powerful GPU have been better for gaming.

People are upset because the 2022 model was the exact same weight, was 2 in 1 with touch screen and pen support, also had a ryzen 9 CPU, and could be found at a similar price, BUT it was packing a 3050ti (underpowered at 65w or something like THAT) which is much faster than the 780m). I had that version (until it was stolen last month) and it was the best laptop I ever owned (also came from a spectre x360, and had various yoga laptops before the HP).

Sorry you got yours stolen!
yup that would be the deal if one was looking for this form factor with discrete graphics, albeit that ryzen 9 was an older slightly slower version.

For me i rather have the updated design, especially slightly larger touchpad. Not that i needed discrete graphics either. Just something better than Intel Iris or Arc that every other 2in1 comes with.

I would say this is not a slick deal. A previous version with dedicated graphics was on sale just a few months ago at $799. The value proposition of a machine like this is that it is a convertible with a good screen and dedicated graphics. As soon as you remove one of those, there are many other options at the same price.

At this price point, you can get lenovo sale units without dedicated graphics and they would be a better value, as they have better software integration, durability and support.

As a poor person, it's really sad when other poor people get triggered when they can't afford something slightly more expensive. The point is not to pay 3x the price. The point is to have a similar deal with the much more powerful gpu or to wait for one. There were plenty of $1k 4060 and 4070 laptops a few weeks ago. Only a fool compares things at full price.

Says who? The 780m is good for integrated graphics but it's still just integrated graphics. The 3050 ti is leaps and bounds above it.

I agree that 800 for a "gaming" laptop with integrated graphics is a lot... The issue is that the rich blind idiot is telling people to buy a 2k+ laptop instead of what you're recommending

To the person who thumb me down, probably the rich idiot, cry harder
