The current generation of Platypus QuickDraw Microfilter System is being discontinued. Based on the Amazon listing [amazon.com], a new version is coming out next month with a faster filter rate and another cap option. I also found this article [outdoorsportswire.com] that indicates there will be another three variations released—2L, 3L, and wide mouth water bottle.
I was looking into this as a travel water filter for overseas tap water so the updates don't add much value for me, especially at a higher cost. For similar uses where the updated flow rate and features aren't needed, this is a good price.
