You know what would be awesome? If Epic/Steam/MS made a Movies Anywhere version of game licenses. I would spend so much money on Epic if they would populate in Steam.

Might have to grab that Cyberpunk bundle though… and MK1.

Wow, I had regrets I didn't grab Alan Wake 2 from the sale a couple weeks ago, and now it's already dropped another $7 so instant buy. The other prices are great too, Epic is consistently 20%+ cheaper than Steam sales.

Please don't spread misinformation. I play Alan Wake 2 on my 5700XT with no issues. The game pops up saying that my graphics card doesn't have mesh shades and performance will be impacted but you can still play.

I play at medium settings and average 40-60FPS with FRS2 set to High Quality.

Absolutely this.

What I think most of consumers don't realize is that it is standard practice to charge software developers 30% to publish on their platform just like Apple and Google. Those costs always get pushed to us.

What steam created at the beginning was an amazing way for developers to get their products to us in a convenient way but now it's almost becoming like Ticketmaster where they're charging exorbitant fees for not much added benefit.

Epic is giving free games away in order to grow their subscriber base so they can get on the 30% fees too.

More competition is generally good just because things like free epic games happen or those fees eventually get pushed down and the consumers then get more savings.

It goes beyond that. Steam has cloud saves, achievement tracking etc. If I want to not use a launcher to open up a game I can just use the cmd prompt. It's not the same.

I think I got the bad code from the seller. It clearly said that there was a restriction because the region where the code was purchased from. Luckily Eneba refunded me immediately. I am not sure I should try again because next time maybe nonrefundable

While I feel this is bait, I'll touch upon it anyway. I already linked a summary from some years ago that details mostly the storefront/launcher issues, many of which still are present. During the Apple storefront issues they actively rallied Fortnite players to choose their side and spread the apple hate. They recently got hit with a $500 mil fine from the FTC for violating COPPA as well as using "dark patterns and billing practices" to trick people into spending. They have stolen assets from one developer for another paying developer to use, without telling either party. The list goes on.

Epic just feels scummy. Rather than doing business by building a good reputation and building trust, they use money to try to create a shortcut while making it seem like they are doing you a favor.

For some reason it's not working for me. I added Alan Wake 2, Last of Us and Remnant 2 to my cart. At first it took the 33% off but when I went to check out it changed the discount to zero. Removed then all and tried again and it says $0 for coupon savings. I want all those at the discount.

To add to this it's also not per game, it's per order. So if you know you want two games, put them in the cart. You'll get 33% off both. No need for separate orders.
