Some sensible additions to make this a more capable kit:

AM/FM/NOAA weatherband solar hand crank emergency radio. Here's one on sale:

Multi-tool or Swiss Army-style knife (doesn't have to be fancy but make sure it includes a can opener.)
Personal water filter or water purification tablets
Gloves, beany hat and face mask
Tarp or emergency tube tent (for shelter or privacy screen in a public shelter) + cordage
3-day supply of RX medications
OTC meds to add to that first aid kit: analgesics, antihistamine, anti-diarrheal, etc
Photocopies of important papers - drivers license/passport, insurance policies, medical/RX info, emergency contacts, etc
