My crystal ball says you are betting $15-$20 for a chance to win $5. Not a good bet (poor risk vs. reward).

Someone with a crystal ball tell me if it's going to go lower. Last year I waited for it to hit $15, it never did, and I ended up having to pay $35. And since I never learn my lesson and am addicted to finding that perfect slickdeal, I'll do the same thing this year.

Yes, I like H&R Block better. They both get worse as the complexity of the return increases. Turbo tax has a slicker interface. Both are glorified spreadsheets that place data in electronic filing format. Block is way cheaper.

Has anyone used both HrBlock and TurboTax in the recent years? I remember TurboTax being much more friendlier and modern looking. Wondering if HRBlock had caught up.

OLT is only $16 for premium version federal + state with filing. Even cheaper if you don't want phone tech support and audit support. Regular price no strings attached. I've used TaxAct, HRBlock, Turbotax, Taxslayer, and OLT over the last 10 years. For the last 3 I've filed with OLT. Its good enough and cheap. I occasionally will use one of the others free versions and get to the end just to compare with OLT just in case and it is always exactly the same, as it should be.

For me it comes down to the ease of importing last years information. Seems safer to use the same product.

H&R just sent me a "Last Chance" email saying I can get this for $44 down from $59. I'm so confused on what to do. 🙄
