Mazda is having a hard time moving inventory. I bought a new CX-5 Signature at the peak of the pandemic shortages with 0.9% financing and $1000 below MSRP.

I absolutely love the car. As absurd and silly as this sounds, it's far more Cayenne than RAV-4. My only complaint is that gas mileage is mediocre to poor.

One thing i've learned in life is, once you make a large purchase, like a house or car, etc. Just stop looking and researching, you'll only be disappointed

Not sure I understand what you mean. I called Toyota dealership today.
Me: can I come for a test drive?
Rep: what car?
Me: (thinking, a strange question, any car on your lot, but I heard me say: ) a Camry and a Prius.
Rep: If Prius, it has to be today or tomorrow because we only have one, and it will likely sell tomorrow.
That's the biggest dealership in the area (it shows 19 Camrys in stock).

So I would imagine no inventory needs to be "moved" this time around and for months into the future because the cars just sell themselves the moment they appear on the lot. Or did I by any chance misunderstand the term "moving inventory"?

Lol... Delivery and doc fees are literally made up line item padding for the dealer. Those are the two MOST negotiable numbers on the invoice.

Buy a CX 5 with Bose sound system! Play your favorite Mp3s (converted from youtube music videos).

BTW, by default, your Bose surround sound feature is NOT activated. Go to Sound menu and turn it on!

Tip: Go to Home Depot and buy a rain gutter metal screen. Install it on the lower part of the front bumper to protect the exposed radiator fins from road debris.
While the surround feature "sounds good", it's not playing the true sounds, and it's making some equalizer adjustments and playing the same thing on all speakers. It's very gimmicky. I keep all of those Bose features turned off in our CX-5. It also ruins the bass.

Not necessarily. Many dealers will let you walk over a $500 doc fee. It just happened to me twice in October.

All car manufacturers raise MSRP so much since the pandemic and dealerships are greedy bunch. They are full of inventory and cannot move them fast enough. With high interest rates, they are bleeding money having so much inventory.

And also, MSRP is not a deal.

Oil changes are easily $80 at the dealership, so it's more than a few bucks Smilie
Dealerships are more like $50 bucks for oil change and tire rotation. However, they always seem to find another 2k worth of stuff that needs immediate doing.

A word to the wise. Getting maintenance appointments in Reno NV is horrible. It's not all about the up front cost, it's the after purchase support.

Sure, everyone wants the swan song, but otherwise, stellantis is a shitshow. Sorry, do more research.

CX5 is smaller than both Outback/Ascent. The ride quality on the OB/AS is better due to wheel base length and softer suspension.

Relatively speaking, CX5 is cramped inside, 2nd row is noticeably smaller. It feels like sitting in a tunnel.

Mazda I4 engine is a bit quieter when accelerating and less laggy than Subaru CVT. But the CVT is much smoother and quieter when cruising 50-70mph.

That's my experience after having all of those 3 cars for a week last year. All 2023 models, premium trim. I would pick the Subarus over the CX5 any day, they are just more comfy IMO.
We have a Legacy right now, and I'm just over the Subaru platform. The CVT is such a turn off. It always feels like you're winding up a rubber band when you hit on the gas, and THEN it reacts later, which that lag is so frustrating in stop and go traffic. It might be a little too "soft" because it's also a vomit rocket for people with motion sickness.

We rented a CX-5 in Denver this year, and the driving experience was so much better. It feels low on power (so does the I4 Legacy but we're complaining about that, too) but I really enjoy the pseudo comfy/pseudo sporty driving experience. My biggest gripe is the infotainment system.

Mazda Loyalty discount -$500.00
I wonder if there is a year cutoff for the loyalty discount. I still have a '94 MX3 and '96 MX6 in the garage... I feel like that should count?
