Mazda is having a hard time moving inventory. I bought a new CX-5 Signature at the peak of the pandemic shortages with 0.9% financing and $1000 below MSRP.

I absolutely love the car. As absurd and silly as this sounds, it's far more Cayenne than RAV-4. My only complaint is that gas mileage is mediocre to poor.

One thing i've learned in life is, once you make a large purchase, like a house or car, etc. Just stop looking and researching, you'll only be disappointed

Don't underestimate the CX-5. It's been out a while, but still impresses. Very sporty drive for an SUV. We have a '21 2.5T CX-5 and its very quick.

Lol... Delivery and doc fees are literally made up line item padding for the dealer. Those are the two MOST negotiable numbers on the invoice.

Destination fee (what's referred to as delivery here) is absolutely not negotiable, it's required by federal law to the be same on every one of that car they sell no matter where it's delivered to (though the car maker not the dealer can decide what that fee is up front for that model for that year- and it shows as its own line on the sticker)

We have a Legacy right now, and I'm just over the Subaru platform. The CVT is such a turn off. It always feels like you're winding up a rubber band when you hit on the gas, and THEN it reacts later, which that lag is so frustrating in stop and go traffic. It might be a little too "soft" because it's also a vomit rocket for people with motion sickness.

We rented a CX-5 in Denver this year, and the driving experience was so much better. It feels low on power (so does the I4 Legacy but we're complaining about that, too) but I really enjoy the pseudo comfy/pseudo sporty driving experience. My biggest gripe is the infotainment system.

I wonder if there is a year cutoff for the loyalty discount. I still have a '94 MX3 and '96 MX6 in the garage... I feel like that should count?
I bought a '22 Miata GT in March and my 97M worked just fine for the discount.

23/31 gas mileage?? For a small SUV in 2024 that's way too crappy.. And not I'm not some crazy EV lover.
CUV/SUV mpg's are turning AWD, and AWD affects mileage in a decent way.
A lot of manufacturers try to accomodate for this by CVTs, while Mazda is still using the "classic" 6 speed transmission.
the Corolla Cross is an AWD CUV with a CVT, and in real life tests, can miss the 32mpg rating on highway traffic.

If you want MPG, stick to a FWD small displacement compact, or hybrid.

No they're not, the sales numbers were pretty great across the whole brand. https://youtu.be/Hjkz1Yasp1I?si=O...fxkQ&t=277
They trying to clear out the 2024's and I'm guessing they're announcing the new CX-5 for 2025.

I have the 2016 model, which has the same drivetrain. Like most everything about the car but it doesn't have enough power. Same would apply to this model.

Verified Buyer: Its an absolute waste of a car. Less cabin space than a sedan. Absolutely a waste of metal. The engine is not powerful enough. This car is stressing me out and my friends tease me. I am losing all my hair over it.

Nah you got a decent deal. No dealer fees. Your car was most likely highway miles too

Bought Turbo Signature 2 weeks ago. It was 0.9% for 36 months with $1500 finance rebate. Would have preferred 0% 60 months. But, I guess I would have not got additional $1500 off. Pretty good ride.
@swimsnoon - May I know Where did you bought it? What was the OutTheDoor price? I am looking to purchase the same model, but see $42k is minimum price to pay.

Curious why they never seem to have these offers for CX9. I'm assuming they're more popular?

Did I do it right ?
"Monthly payments of $16.67 for every $1,000 financed." If I calculated right, for a 36 month finance, it is equivalent to a 3% APR. For 48 mo, 2% APR.
