NOTE for Parents buying this as a gift:
1) This is in reality a digital only game. There is no game in the disc itself. After you insert the disc you will have to download the whole game from Microsoft's servers. Thus, this game won't work if you don't have internet. Also, you might want to pre-download the game before Christmas, specially if your internet is slow.
2) This game will not work on the Xbox Series S version of the console. If you are buying this as a gift make sure they have an Xbox Series X.

Even though this game is on Game Pass, at this price nice to have it for if and when Xbox decides to remove it from GP.
I doubt they'll remove it from GP. It would have to be the day Microsoft no longer owns HALO. In my opinion, it's good to buy this game if you decide you don't want the risk of not having a copy of this game or Microsoft actually decides to close down Game Pass (or change it to be a different kind of service). I am the kind of player that doesn't like digitally owned games outside of Steam because you hardly own the game. I'm currently on the fence whether to pick this up or not because I only have an Xbox One X which is still slower than a Series S. I would prefer to play this on PC but this copy doesn't seem like a play anywhere license. That is probably on the digital version, which isn't on sale.

Halo 5 has been universally panned by critics and the actual player base. It is possibly the worst entry in the entire franchise. Pretty crazy how everything you said is flat-out wrong
