Newegg can't tell you what you can and can't use a product for.

You can make it a primary, secondary, tertiary drive; you can assign it any drive letter of the alphabet.

You can use this drive to spread butter on toast.

This is a PCIe Gen 3 drive. PS5 requires PCIe Gen 4.

Dear lord, 7% negative 1 star reviews and it's all early failures. Compare that to other drives I was looking at, 2-3% 1 star reviews with the same problem.

Deal is a little bit sweeter via TikTok mobile app: $141.99. I did this during Black Friday so it's legit.

- Open TikTok mobile app, search for Newegg, click Shop.
- I searched for "4TB Team Group m.2". Find and open the product link (original price is $171.99.)
- Click and claim the coupon on the top of the page. Should read 20% off (max $30).

If you are trying to buy multiples, like I did. You can break up your order to maximize the discount.
My credit cards raised flags when trying to checkout (this has happened 4 times for me). Just try different cards or payment methods (like Apple Pay or Pay Pal).

Good luck!

Would this be a good option for an external time machine backup for Mac? I plan to partition it in half to store just data on one of them.

As someone linked to previously, I think the 4TB variant isn't the Phison/Kioxia version, it's the Realtek/SKHynix version.

anyone know why this seems to have a lot of people saying it has a high failure rate? There was some recent samsung drives that had that going on and it was firmware based

newb here- would this work for Ps5?
"What the new support page does tell us is how strict the requirements are for the SSD. It needs to be a PCIe Gen4 x4 M.2 NVMe SSD with a capacity of between 250GB and 4TB. The sequential read speed of the drive needs to be at least 5,500MB/s and "effective heat dissipation" is required. In other words, Sony wants you to use a heatsink on the drive to ensure temperatures are kept under control."

Short answer....NO, it's too slow

Just get a traditional hard drive for backups. Not really a backup if you are storing data it on the same drive. I not sure if you ever had M2 SSD die, when it dies, it is difficult to get data off. At least with a mechanical, you may get some early smart error warnings.

I created a TikTok account just for this offer, but once I click on the product link, the top of the page is just pictures of the product. I don't see a 20% off coupon link. Thanks for any help.
