Ha, never knew this existed! Perfect for a door that's been slowly creeping out of alignment with the strike as the house has settled.

It's usually up or down for sagging doors not in/out like this does. Also main thing for added security would be longer screws if plate is thick enough but for wooden doors the slab usually will fail before latch side will if not reinforced by plate, metal ones are different story.

LOVE these things! Where I live all the houses come with them as standard, but back in the US I could never find these and all our doors were always a bit uneven everywhere we lived.

This might secure your front door if you live in an apartment. If you live in a house, you'll need to secure your patio door or side door instead. Why? Because most thief / robber enter your house thru back door.
I'm not a thief, but I always enter through the back door.

I own this, it's garbage. It never stays at the depth you screw it into. It always slides over time and allows the door to close looser than you would like. Not worth the hassle even if it was free

Same here! Hopefully this will fix my door with electronic deadbolt I have to pull for the motor to be able to lock/unlock.

Also, many times you can adjust your standard plate with a flathead screwdriver, there is a metal tab in the hole that you can bend out. Works, but entry doors sometimes can bend that back, but on interior doors that rattle, it's a few second free fix.
