Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
Except it wasn't for everyone. you know that. That like saying oh I got a rare 50% off coupon on everything and only available for one store. That's why you got thumb down. Surely you don't care. Heck why mention it.
The "sweet" deal is when everyone has the chance for new record LOW price hence this deal…so far. The $138 Series S deal from 12/14 from Walmart dot com was hot, lasting 5 minutes, and coupon not needed and factually available for all.
My friend works for Walmart and he got a better Series X deal than me, you, everyone else with the employee discount to make it $250. Lucky him.
It's $399 direct from Microsoft and you can get Microsoft gift cards 20% off pretty easily... Would make it $320 if you want to put in a smidge of effort.
Gift cards are 10% off on Amazon right now, plus save another 5% if you have Amazon credit card. Microsoft will price match Walmart target, Best Buy, etc. Delivery was immediate by email
That may be true, but everyone had the chance to signed up for a registry 15% off in advance. And if they have a red card- 5% (plus the $50 coupon for sign up). If anyone wanted an Xbox discount, they just had to do some searching on here and keep tabs while planning ahead for the unexpected sales.
And the same can be said about Series S deal. How can it be a "sweet deal" if it only lasted a whole 5 minutes and not everyone getting a chance to grab one. ?
Also, condolences to your friend for having to work for Walmart.
It not that complicated to secure the best deal possible by having the following self-criteria:
Deal alert enabled
Proactiveness
Value of time
And luck. You can only control so much.
Everyone here is different. Some don't care for the extra hurdle to score extra discount. Some do. Some don't care for gc. Some do. Some are impulsive. Some aren't. Some are related to Mr. Krab. Some are being lazy. Some want efficiency as straight up cash but no catch transaction in case of something better come along. You get it. You know who you are.
I get your aforementioned point on securing the hot deal of the holiday from Target
but let be real again.
You're the minority here to go out of your way to plan for such subjective discount. The Walmart Xbox deal is objectively one and done! Life is short man. And because NOBODY saw it coming, you're factually not giving a lot of credit for what had occurred.
Condolence not needed because you believe the stereotype and misconception which is 100% inaccurate as strictly neighborhood dependent. I won't even bash the Target employee for being stereotypical in their own way. I simply don't care.

No gr8 games on xbox, ps5 has the mkt share. Plus xbox lost much trust with their first online push couple yrs back so sony has goodwill and the games now.
Basically just Halo, Gears, Forza, and Starfield (+ all Bethesda titles moving forward).
Definitely envious of all the single players games at PlayStation though, I'll have to get a digital PS5 whenever it hits ~$400. Unfortunate aspect of PlayStation is the lack of Game Pass and $5 grey market games

Walmart employee discount is 10%. $350 would come down to $315 with that discount. There is no other discount that could be added.

It is available to everyone, yes it's sold out buy that happens.
I'm noticing that Microsoft is very Generous with the discounts, meanwhile Sony is very Greedy and almost Grinch-like.
This seems to happen with whatever company is in the lead or has insane sales.
Like with Nintendo during mediocre sales they had great discounts in the day of gamecube or when they made the wii u. Now if you look around I don't think they even make Nintendo Select games anymore. Over confidence seems to create the greed. Like when microsoft had their "always online" xbox moment that killed the momentum of one particular console generation. The success of the prior generation went to their heads.

Real question..
Why are people buying this one when the new one coming up in few months? Shouldn't people banking on gift card for the next XBOX?
Especially people who already have 1 and buying a second one, I don't understand this.
I have xbox1x and I'm just saving to buy the new Xbox in summer. Am I crazy?
The new model has more storage (2TB) but no Blu-ray player. It is possible that we won't get another Xbox with a Blu-ray player again. If owning games on physical discs is important to you, now is your best chance to secure a console at a good price. They could keep games on the expensive side on the store in the future to force you to subscribe to Game Pass. You would also not be able to buy and play used games. Also, you cannot replace the SSD on these consoles like on the Xbox One, so when (not if) the SSD dies, you need to shell out $300 for the repair fee. Having a new console with new warranty means it will likely last a bit longer than a model that is a few years old at this point.
If you already have a Series X, the new model does not bring you any improvements other than more storage space. If you are saving up money for a "better" model, your best option at this point may be just to get a PC. That way you are not locked into the M$ ecosystem where you need to rely on their digital store for all your purchases and game preservation. Also, having experienced games on an ultra-wide 3440x1440 monitor, it is a much better experience than the 4K upscaled image you get from the Series X. There is also a Playstation Pro on the way.
