Well.. it's probably annoying if you've set an alert for 'generator' deals and 4/5 matches are actually just Battery/Inverter combos like this.

At any rate... $1359+tax is pretty solid for a Delta Pro, even if it is refurb... EF still warranties it for 5yrs.

Can we stop calling batteries generators?

I paid full factory list a year ago. I had a spare 30 amp circuit for the dryer. Was able to power the whole house with this thing. Installed a safety interlock on the main so it can only power the panel when the main is off. I can keep the house going for 6 hours internet, lights, refrigerator and blower for the furnace. After which an inverter generator charges it back up in less than 2 hours.
? how ? Isn't this thing 110 ? It's not 220.....

How long is this code good for? Anyone know? I don't want to order and not be around when it's delivered. I wonder if we can request for a delay in delivery. Thanks.

I had bought at $1700 a few weeks before that. I chatted and asked for them to price match and they said they couldn't pricematch due to it being bf/cm sales. So I requested a return through ebay. The same rep reached out to me and said "I see you have requested a return due to a better price found. If we matched that price, would you keep it?". Smilie

So, yes, I think they will price match. And if they say no, you know what to do.
Thanks. I'm in the same situation and still in the return period so I'm going to try this as well.

No kidding. It is very confusing. This thing does not generate anything. Its a storage device aka battery.
??? It is clearly generating electricity from chemical reactions.

Thumb down for listing a battery as a generator.
They both do the same thing. I.e. they provide stationary source of electricity to run things.

A gas generator burns gas to spin magnets and wires to generate electricity via electro magnetism. Gas is the storage of energy to generate power.

A battery generator reacts chemically to generate electricity via redox reactions. Battery chemicals is the storage to energy to generate power.

How would this do for a home backup vs an emphase 10k unit? I just got solar and it's not legal to have batteries installed in NYC. We don't really have power loss but still thinking about adding some sort of batteries.

Is it bad for the batteries to use this a a ups for my server room ? Meaning they are 100% charged 99.99% of the time. ? I know they are not fast enough in switching over so I would use a small ups plugged in to the ecoflow which then runs server room.
It's an LFP battery so it should be completely fine. You might want to hook up a smaller UPS since I think this one has a decent lag if the power is pulled. You can cycle this battery everyday for like 10 years so I recommend solar if you can. It comes with a neat feature where it'll use the wall outlet as a backup at a % charge of your choice in case it's a cloudy day.

In my experience with the Delta 2, it is not a UPS. Power cuts for about 1-3 secones when you pull the plug before it switches over. Fast enough for most stuff but slow enough that it reboots all my computer equipment. I'm instead using an old lead battery for computers that then plugs into the Delta 2, which is inefficient, but works for my goal of making my whole office solar powered.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but would the Pro also qualify for the Federal tax credit for 3kw+ battery installs?
Yes, but it MUST be NEW, not used or refurbished. These refurbished units DO NOT qualify.

I personally feel the law is vague enough such as to allow a person to claim an EV that is capable of bidirectional charge, i.e. like my EV6 which connects to a 6 circuit 120 volt transfer panel in my garage. If I had not bought it used , I would 100% have attempted to claim it at $39,000 for an $11,700 tax credit. Its functionally no different than any of these portable batteries. If they qualify, so can an EV that is bidirectional and "installed" to the home with a transfer switch. Really think about it, if these portable batteries with wheels can qualify, so can a car that does literally the same thing.

I don't think that's true. Do you have a link for that?
It's a quick google search. -
https://www.marketwatch.com/guide...e%20years.

"You can only claim the federal solar tax credit once. "

This might change legislative someday, but for now it is what it is. I think it's really unfortunate it doesn't get mentioned more in these threads.

You can heat the panel with the 30 amp 115 volts output. You have to turn off the main. My electrician put a safety bar in so the spare 30 amp circuit can only power the panel when the main is off. Works great. I have internet and tv when the power goes out for at least 6 hours. Then I only have to listen to the Predator inverter generator for 1.6 hours which is how long it takes to charge the Eco Pro back up again.

Yep, I was planning to add a smaller ups to it to catch that slight interruption. Good plan. Might add some solar at some point but I'd have to pull wires from my server room.
Is it safe to charge this thing indoors (in server room) ? These don't have any gasses come out, right?
