Thoughts? It would be better if there was not a sub included and then add an svs or monolith 15.

Because while these are excellent speakers, their sub significantly lacks in power. You would do so much better with the speakers, and a monolith 15.

Can anyone comment if the SPL-150 is much better than the RP-1200SW. The aesthetics of the 1200SW look better to me and it is a newer model, but obviously smaller (12v15). Just trying to make a final decision between the two....

That subwoofer is $1,500 though. Do you really spend half of your speaker budget on your sub? The rest of the package is like $1,800. I'm seeing a fair amount of reviews on the monolith 15" that say the amp fails.

I have no experience with either, but I've been trying to work out what to buy. In the recent SPL-150 thread there was some discussion about amp failure rate and warranty duration:

Where can you get an RP-1400 for $699? Adorama is at $1,399 and I couldn't find any recent SD listings for that sub.
