For such a powerful sounding name, it's not very fast.

It's just the same as old sn750, one of the best in the time of pcie3.0. Of course it's slow compared with the pcie4.0 now.

and you wont notice the difference unless your cpu has cores out the yang, is fast af, and you're encoding videos or something that can take advantage of the speed.

Gaming isn't one.

I wonder if November was a short-term bottom of ssd prices - I see the prices of 2-4TB drives 10-20% higher in December.

Next year will be interesting as manufacturers want to increase prices (WD recently came out saying they want a nand price increase of 55% in the coming quarters). But the recent stabilization was largely due to Samsung cutting its nand production by half, not by increasing demand, so I'm not sure if any rise will be sustainable.

Crashes and price hikes in SSD/RAM market with supply demand irregularities has been a big thing for the last 5 years. I see most of the discounted SSDs disappeared from inventories already. Whatever you snagged will be yours, next, they will start selling higher end products from now on at a higher premium so they can actually make some good money like they used to.

I am pretty sure the SN750SE (Walmart link) is not the same as the SN750X. As I recall the "SE" was without Cache. I am not sure what the sandisk equivelant is. Any one know what one runs cooler?

These sales could be "window dressing " for year end sales. Next years prices ?

Not a bad deal if it has DRAM too. Looks like TLC NAND.

Appears to be OOS.
Seemed an OK deal to me if you are good with Gen3. Had TLC and DRAM.I was going to use it in an enclosure.

The age of ridiculously cheap NVME drives is coming to a close. Yes, Samsung has cut production, but in effect that's equivalent to demand rising. Same dollars chasing fewer goods, in this case. Wall Street analysts are expecting prices to rise, and I don't believe we'll ever see the kind of insanely great NVME prices as before. Furthermore, while NVME 5.0 is in its infancy - several products out there now - the prices are insanely high, but I'm betting that they come down as it NVME 5 become mainstream, but nothing like the prices you saw in the past 12 months, when there was a huge glut of inventory that needed to be cleared.
