The trend with models that are using DDR5 is certainly towards soldered RAM. There are still models with socketed RAM or a mix of soldered and a single socket.
What I really dislike is soldered SSDs. SSDs are a wear item like tires on a car, and welding the lugnuts is pretty infuriating.

Wow if a car came with welded lug nuts that would basically mean throw the car away at 40,000 miles lol
