I was able to get it done. You have to call in to cancel your current account. The cancellation order takes less an hour to finalize. Once it's cancelled, your address will be eligible to sign up for a new account. You can use the same name and SSN, just create a new FiOS online account after you place your order.

Actual disconnection came in less than 5 minutes after my call with support ended. But the cancellation order was still shown as pending for around an hour I think? Once the cancellation order went through, FiOS released the address to be eligible for new service again. You just have to wait a little before you can sign up again. Otherwise, even if you select you're signing up for a second service, their system will block your new order as there's another order (cancellation) pending.

I'd say you can get the new service activated in about 40 minutes from the moment you hang up your phone with phone support for cancellation.

I'm kinda confused. Does Verizon offer a wireless internet option (like T-Mobile) or would this require a hard wired installation? I'm looking for a DIY option.
EDIT: I wasn't aware of the (similar) post right above. Please clarify if they do offer a wireless option (similar to T-Mobile) and, if so, are there any promotions available for it? Thanks!

Yes I've had 5G Home Internet for over 1 year. The customer service reps explained to cancel my service and reorder a new 5G wireless gateway and the promo will apply to the new wireless gateway and new account. They will also provide the router a new phone number as well.

So, if I understand correctly, this promotion applies to both wired and wireless options? I dont have any services with Verizon, but it's available where I live.

Yeah you need Verizon mobile plan to get the bundle discount. It's the same for AT&T and T-Mobile.

okay but does it mess up your current plan? Like do you have to send back things like wifi extenders… just trying play on the cautious side and not be f'd over by verizon by any means


I also have verizon wireless for other discounts.
