I was able to get it done. You have to call in to cancel your current account. The cancellation order takes less an hour to finalize. Once it's cancelled, your address will be eligible to sign up for a new account. You can use the same name and SSN, just create a new FiOS online account after you place your order.

Actual disconnection came in less than 5 minutes after my call with support ended. But the cancellation order was still shown as pending for around an hour I think? Once the cancellation order went through, FiOS released the address to be eligible for new service again. You just have to wait a little before you can sign up again. Otherwise, even if you select you're signing up for a second service, their system will block your new order as there's another order (cancellation) pending.

I'd say you can get the new service activated in about 40 minutes from the moment you hang up your phone with phone support for cancellation.

I was told I can't get the home and mobile offer combined if I cancel and activate. Right now I am paying $65 instead of $90. Is yours both home and mobile ?

How long does it take from the time the service is activated before seeing the Xbox and gift cards available to be claimed?

nm. I was on my vz app and didn't see it there. Went to verizon.com to sign into my FiOS acct and saw the offers to redeem. Claimed the Xbox and $200amzn gc. Slickdeal!!

I'm a FiOS Internet-only subscriber currently in the 1G plan paying about $75/mo for the past 7 years, no promos. Promo was only the first year, when it was $65 then it went up.
I have no need for mobile or any other service from Verizon except their FiOS Internet. I live in an area when Optimum also offers a similar competitive option at the same price, but probably without the Xbox.
My question is can I get this pricing (for $65) if I don't take their mobile plan?

You are at the mercy of the rep. A knowledgeable and resourceful rep will pull in a tech rep to flip the switch. Others will tell you to wait and say it's out of their control.

Hmm. In that case any reason I couldn't just hang up and call back? Or ask to be elevated to a tech rep. I gotta convince the wife that we won't be without Internet for the holidays here 😂

So they need info of the ONT? I'm currently away. I figured this the perfect time to cancel and reconnect as I don't use home internet.

Yup. You can do that. I recommend turning down your Internet after work and verifying you have a good mobile connection to make the new order. Although while my Internet was down for 4 hours, my wife ended up cleaning the house. Smilie

No. I've been using my own router last 5 yrs . I don't use Verizon's router .
