Cheapest options I see:
Potato Taco $1
Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito $1
Hashbrown $1.49

So pay $3.49 upfront for 3 items then also get a cravings box for free

This shows up as a Challenge in the app. If you don't have the challenge, you will not get the Cravings box. The exact parameters of the challenge are to buy any item in the Taco Category of the app, any item in the Burrito Category, and any item in the Breakfast category in one or more orders by 12/28 at 11:59PM PST to receive a free cravings box. The least expensive options are exactly what is stated by the OP, but you are not limited to that if you would prefer something else. You can also do it in 3 separate orders.

See above. Apparently you can get everything at breakfast. So 2 trips total.

Also keep in mind once you've earned the reward you have 14 days to redeem. So you don't need to go right away. Just enough time to start a news years resolution and to break it.

The only things worth it at Taco Bell these days are the $2 burritos and the $1 cheesy bean and rice burrito, and I've heard that they're raising the prices on them next month. Everything else is overpriced and low quality. Wish they'd bring back the $1 shredded chicken mini quesadilla and apple empanadas.

Yeah, it's dumb. But cravings box is limited time is why. It's definitely the best regular priced thing on the menu ATM though, by far.

Pretty much true. I only order off value menu. Everything is is like $5+ for barely anything bigger
