I got Pixel6a a year ago in a similar deal from Mint. Even though Mint claimed that phone is locked, I tried inserting a sim from an INTL carrier and it worked. When I called Mint after 12 months then they told me that Google phones are not locked so there is no need to unlock.
I am not sure about 7pro but mine 6a was unlocked from the day I received.

Ported my number to Google Voice many years ago, been using Mint most of those years as a "new customer" by getting a new number each time and setting GV to forward calls to the new number each time (a few quick taps in the GV app does it). This time I'll have to get my own number somewhere else to port in ($3 by setting up a new Google account & porting that out is my most likely path), but everything else is the same.

I look like a new account to Mint each time by using Gmail's "plus sign" feature whereby you insert some random text preceded by a plus sign right before the @ in your email address and that extra stuff looks like a different address to Mint, but Gmail ignores it. For example:

[email protected]

Looks unique to Mint, but still gets processed to the [email protected] address by Google. I often use the company and date for the random text to ensure it's unique, so I'd have:

[email protected]

Last year during the big Mint sale I got this phone and ported our numbers over. I'm a fan of the phone (no fingerprint issues) and Mint's pricing, but beware there are known MMS issues the Pixel 7 Pro on Mint that are not fixed after over a year.

Texting via group texts sometimes doesn't go through (or come through) and sending pictures via text just don't work. After troubleshooting for a year with support and reddit forums, there still isn't a fix. It got better after switching the APN and found one that works OK, but it's never consistent.

Just a warning to anyone considering the switch.

Do you need to use the sim at all or port in ? I'm asking, can I setup the phone without porting in and use as a Wi-Fi only device? Any idea?

"Sorry, we do not have enough "Google Pixel 7 Pro (Locked) - Black, 128GB" in stock to fulfill your order (0 available). We apologize for any inconvenience caused."

After you add to cart you should see that message. That died quickly. Must be the free bacon carrying the sales

What happens if when the phone arrives it didn't port in, will they only give me 6 months of service? Because when making the purchase it says a 12 month plan of 5gb

p.s recovery fee it is expensive almost 20 dollars

I have a question..
Hope to answer from our Slickdeals Pros😀
It says port in required.. I had Metro phone # from a54 5g deal which I got for 1 month to get the deal at that time n then never paid for future months.. since then I have not used that #. Can I use that pre paid # to port in once I buy this deal ?
I don't want to port in my current Tmobile number attached to my post paid account.
Hope I am clear with my question.
Appreciate any inputs..
I really want to jump on this deal.
So Hope to get answer sooner

Mint is pretty good about giving you the unlock code. They have a web app to automate it.
