Like the other commenter said you can't do it in store.
There is probably a way around that but since it's a targeted promo the store employees are not able to check it for you if you did not get the text offer. I tried it at Costco and a T-Mobile store and they couldn't do it.
Thanks everyone! I have essentials savings plan. I traded in a SE 3rd gen I had laying around and purchased a 15 pro max for a family member. I couldn't believe I qualified, I normally don't for these offers. My reps were super nice, have patience and be nice to them. The rep knew the offer I was asking about as soon as I called.
For those that have simple choice plan, did you qualify? I called and they said I'm not qualified since I have SC and asked me if I wanted to upgrade to T-Mobile One which is qualified, but I refused. Looks like grandfathered plans are not qualified.

I confirmed in tmobile app chat that I'm eligible but when I go through the process online to trade in any phone, I don't see the 800. I'm too scared to go through with it even though the chat rep says I'm good for it. I have simple choice plan
Wow, great deal. I went through the chat in the app and they confirmed I was eligible for both the $800 and $700 deals, so I traded in a Samsung S20 FE and a junky Oneplus Nord N200 for an iPhone 15 and Pixel 8. I was able to get them to waive the activation fees so it wound up running $150 after tax.

When you called did you ask if "Smartphone_Trade_ID230433" segment was on your account? Or did you ask if you were eligible for promo "P629 / OR19519"? Was it either or both?

Does this mean 4 lines are eligible for $700 back and 1 lines eligible for $800 back upon trading in existing iPhones?

they said they will give me $10 off with a trade in of a galaxy s9
The same device is worth $150 on Samsung right now and $100 on the Google website.
What can I do now to make double sure they will give me the $800 in promo credits with my trade before I sign for the new phone?
