Alright, since I'm seeing quite a bit of back and forth on these I'd thought I would chime in with my experience. As mentioned earlier I have already bought a pair of D15s. I think they sounded great. Coming from a pure Klipsch system prior I was delighted to hear how silky smooth these are. The midrange is definitely a step up. I ordered the D17s from his deal and received them on the 28th. I wasn't expecting a huge difference as compared to the D15s and there is not. However the difference I do hear is a plus. The D17s, unsurprisingly, have better bottom end. I think that translates into a bit warmer speaker overall which I seem to like. I love bass and have dual svs sb3000s. I haven't really had the subs on with the D17s yet as I'm wanting to fully break them in. I will say I can understand how some people might be underwhelmed listening to these at first especially compared to Klipsch. Klipsch sound is definitely in your face which I also like but these D15s and D17s just sound more grown up. I noticed that at low volumes the sound is almost boiler plate. Not bad by any means but these things can handle power and when I crank them up to about midway to the max volume I really like they seem to wake up. I'd compare it to driving a civic type R cruising at 40 mph. It's fine nothing wrong with it but not particularly exciting. Step on the gas, ie add some volume and it's like whoa! These really wake up. They are buttery smooth flat all the way up to max listening volumes and they have that great sound as you add volume that gives the impression they aren't breaking a sweat at all and can go much louder. Klipsch does the same in that regard, I think all good speakers do, but there's just something really pleasant with these as the volume goes up. Anyway just my 2c. Happy to answer any questions to.
I have the D15s and can only echo SpearmintRhino's positive experience, although I might be coming from the complete opposite end of the spectrum in terms of speaker preferences. My main speakers are vintage Spendors, and I have never liked bright speakers. I was a little hesitant to purchase these speakers because some reviews suggested they are slightly bright on top. I know that not all bright speakers sound hard and brittle, but since I love listening to choral music, an accurate and life-like presentation of the human voice is my top priority. Some of you may agree that, more often than not, even speakers that measure well can fail to reproduce the natural timbre of a voice. In my experience, the D15s produce a wonderfully balanced and natural sound in vocal reproduction. They also do well with acoustic instruments, so if you're a fan of classical music and jazz, I would highly recommend these. I find them to be neutral and transparent to the characteristics of your source and amplification. Yet, at the same time, they have the ability to make music very engaging, enjoyable, and pleasant to listen to, unlike some neutral speakers that can sound dry, analytical, and constrained. As expected, speaker placement had a significant impact on the overall tonal characteristics. I have set up the pair in a semi-open space with at least 8 feet from the wall boundaries in all directions. The midrange and bass are still full-bodied with a wide-open soundstage and precise imaging. I am really enjoying these speakers and wanted to share my experience with you, especially if you're considering them for two-channel music listening.
I'm in for a black pair. I already have the D15s from a few weeks back. They are properly broken in and they sound so so good paired with dual svs sd3000s. I'm not expecting the D17s to big significantly better than the D15s But I'll be moving the D15s to the rear replacing a pair of Klipsch 820f. The fronts I had prior were the Klipsch 280rf. I like the Klipsch but these are so silky smooth I love them! Hats off to all the nay Sayers. They helped keep demand low on these so the price kept going down. Such an awesome slickdeal!
Andrew jones was being diplomatic with his opinion. If you're selling speakers, you want to ride the fence between sanity and not angering audiophiles who think setting a metal doorstop on their DAC improves the sound…

Not selling very fast (about 10 pairs of each in a day). The D15 deal sold down pretty quickly.
Lol 10 per day I could build some speakers in my garage and sell more than 10 a day tells you everything you need to know about these piles of junk. Adorama probably looses more money holding 3000 tower speaker in a warehouse then they make per day selling them. These have been posted like every month since the beginning of the year 😂

The real question is how much are they spending on lovelysparrow lol

Not enough!!!! I've been accused of working for Apple, denon, JBL, jamo/klipsch, Bose, etc etc etc by people with better logic than Ericlikesdeals can muster. Some people are so cheap they're being given the tower speaker deal of the year and they still want something for nothing. Or do they? Why would they want trash speakers at any price. Weird, right?! Maybe he's just another def tech fanboy like the reviewers at sound & vision, audioholics, etc?

You said people only write negative things online, so I said what about fan boys.. never accused anyone on this thread of being a fanboy... anyway I know why you have been accused if working for all those brands... because you work for adorama who sells all those brands. Now stop taking it personally and calling me cheap, we are the market and we have valued these speakers at $499. We all know to expect delivery damage and poor service after we receive them so $499 also include that risk. You on the other hand are adding pain and suffering and we might demand $450 if you keep this nonsense up
I would love to see you dragged out of the store kicking and screaming on Pawn Stars because you thought everything you had was worth millions.

I don't like to accuse anyone of shilling for a company but it's definitely really weird how every single adorama post they pop-up in the thread and never have a single negative thing to say about the product. Even products I absolutely love I can tell you a negative about the product. Anytime no one post or wants to hear a single negative about the product I get suspicious. Too many brands paying for kind words on the Internet nowadays unfortunately.

Your market is "something for nothing". Just admit it. Stop with the excuses already. People were buying these at full price or close to it from Amazon, Best Buy, etc etc. Read the reviews.
The reviewers who gave these excellent reviews only mentioned MSRP. Not sales prices. Duh.
And why are you SOOOO interested in trash speakers?? Weird.

Nope. Wrong. Incorrect. Show me where I said "ONLY".
"""you work for adorama """
Nope. Wrong. Incorrect. Other than these speakers that are a great value, show me where I'm encouraging anyone to buy anything Adorama posts here at least once a day? So when have you ever been "RIGHT"??!! 🤣
"""stop taking it personally""
Bwahaha! You are the definition of gaslighting. YOU made this personal. I'm simply returning the favor.
"""I would love to see you dragged out of the store kicking and screaming on Pawn Stars because you thought everything you had was worth millions."""
You obviously know NOTHNG about audio equipment. You actually think the quality of what you got/heard was purely based on price. How about trying some high end power cables that every high end audio system uses and let us know if it is "worth" the crazy high price? 🤡🤣🤣🤣

Uh…I thought you were gonna provide a link to your garage made speakers that sell for more than 10 a day????
Hmm. Let's see. I've COMPLAINED that def tech speakers I've received from Adorama in FACTORY boxes, both recently and 10 yrs ago, had damaged crossovers. That kinda sounds NEGATIVE to me. Lol!! 🤣
Don't you think that would turn a lot of potential buyers away? Is that something a shill would do? 🧐
I think the only other thing I've ever bought from Adorama was a denon receiver and I was NOT happy it wasn't double boxed like I would have suspected. Luckily while the factory box is beat up, the receiver seems to work ok.
So keep looking for boogeymen. You sound paranoid 😳
I actually find it VERY COINCIDENTAL that you and ericlovesdeals seem to post replies within a few minutes of one another. Hmmm… what could that possible mean…? 😂😂
PS— DO NOT buy these from Adorama. DO NOT buy anything from Adorama.
Happy now?! 🤡

You don't need speakers, you need shut ups lol. There, squeaky wheel oiled. I can't wait to come back here as soon as they lower the price and get your commentary haha. Maybe you'll claim it's deflation taking effect.

Lol. Just give up already. You never had any logical points anyway. Just vomiting incoherent gibberish. You're making yourself look even more desperate 🤡
WHO CARES if they lower the price? It's irrelevant. They're the tower speaker deal of the year now and will be even more at a lower price. Why you so interested in trash speakers anyway?? Weird.
You want a job at Adorama? I can send you an application. We need someone to clean the toilets 🤣🤣

For a min I thought you meant you'd send me an application, but if you send me your resume to use I probably would get the job cleaning toilets lol
