Experience Aloy's legendary quest to unravel the mysteries of a future Earth ruled by Machines. Use devastating tactical attacks against your prey and explore a majestic open world in this award-winning action RPG!
I rarely find the urge to play games these days, and when I do play them, it is hard for me to play them for long before I lose interest. Recently happened with Elden Ring and CP77 (although I plan on continuing both eventually). I had H:ZD in my Steam library for over a year before I decided to give it a try. It's a really fun game, with a well developed world and story, and the graphics are gorgeous. It's so good that it ended up being one of the only games I've played through to the end in quite some time. I'm actually really looking forward to Forbidden West getting released on PC. I will buy it the day it is released.
what does that have to do with this deal?
You're right about the names being goofy, but there's a reason which I will try to explain without spoiling anything. The tribe is primitive and doesn't understand the world around them. As the story develops you realize it's actually as sophisticated as any decent sci-fi novel and there are like.. at least three "holy shit" moments where your entire understanding of the world and lore changes.
It does suck that the true gravity of the story can't be communicated without spoilers, which must've been a hard task for the marketing of this game. Just know it does not stay goofy. The tribe is merely attempting to understand a sophisticated world beyond their understanding with primitive eyes.

I have a hard time getting into this game. I've tried a few times.
The story is pretty cringey. The character naming, enemy naming, is really basic and goofy. It takes away from the gameplay, which I feel is fairly average 3rd person action RPG.
I'd much rather play one of the new tomb raiders, or uncharted games. God of war.
While this game isn't BAD, I do feel it's really over rated. And I can't figure out why it's rated as highly as it is. It feels like it's made for 12-14 year olds - which is fine. But maybe that's why as an adult male I think it's a bit too silly.
Ya, so I had this same experience when I first played it on the PS4, and never made it far. I finally gave it a chance on PC and pushed through those first areas and I realized that the whole cringey thing was just laying the groundwork because it was basically cheesy/cuteness of essentially a primitive teenager in a naive primitive world. The game eventually grows and builds out of that and kind of becomes amazing, imo.
I HIGHLY recommend just pushing through the first 3hrs or so to get past that stuff because the game really opens up amazingly, and it leads you to the sequel, which is absolutely incredible and one of the best games I have played... Really cool game and premise... once you get past the first basically setup of the story.

how's the price compare to steam...?
All the links provided by OP are to sites that will sell you a key for the game that activates on Steam. If you want to buy the key directly from Steam you can get it for $12.49 as part of their winter sale that ends on January 4th.
Good deal if you want the game. Tried the game out and got a refund from Steam. If your MO is to watch a movie and play a little game this is it. Gave up 39 minutes in only killing one dino. Pace was too slow for me.
This is definitely a low pace game since they aimed it to have RPG type of game mechanics mixed with open world. It gets more complicated in terms of that you have to have a hunting strategy to defeat enemies or complete a quest.
I my opinion this game is very similar to Zelda Breath of the Wild without the puzzles.
Long shot to ask this here... But anyone ever find a solution for the lod sky/texture flickers?
Only answer I found on Google was installing drivers from year 2021 which I'm not gonna do. 😅

I'm going to dive back in.
It's one of my best buddies FAV games.. and he's into some good stuff (mass effect, witcher 3) so.. there has to be something I'm missing. I'm going to revisit it.
I'll add that as someone who played horizon zero dawn and God of war almost back to back IDK which was better but they are both high on my "best games ever" list. The story on GZD is just as mind screwy and scary as the story in God of war was heart warming.
Also loved control, bit don't consider it on par with GZD or God of war.
So yeah we played and enjoyed a lot of the same games the past few years it seems, can't recommend GZD enough given that.
Because you might already have the game. As far as I know there isn't a Sony equivalent for "Is it on Game Pass[google.com]"

Why buy here when you can buy it on Epic Games for $8 after adding it to cart and proceeding to checkout? Plus you get $1 in rewards. Unless you want it on Steam for achievements and cloud saves.
1. Steam Deck verified.
2. Remote play compatible.
3. Single game library.
4. Avoids Epic.
5. 1 step setup.

I'm the same exact way… I keep buying these awesome games on sale (ME Legendary Edition, GoW etc) but I either rarely play them or when I do play them I lose interest pretty quickly.
Sony requires data collection while playing this game. No way to opt out.
Security data is very vague. So they can scan your computer to detect and investigate malicious, unauthorized or fraudulent activities. Doesn't say yes or no.
Also, there is no way to skip the beginning intro that is way too long. I wanted to like this game, and bought it, but may just uninstall it. Sony you are so wack.

This is the correct answer, it isn't called an "Epic Deck."
