NewEgg - https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16811699008
Walmart - https://www.walmart.com/ip/Magniu...3015421565 - expired

I'm looking for a no nonsense, rock bottom price case with free shipping for a gaming rig, and this fits the bill. It even offers temper glass, water cooling support, and 5-year warranty. Only 1 fan included, but the chassis supports up to 5 fans. I have tons of fans lying around.

the title made it sound like if you buy in Walmart you can get it for $30 without MIR, but it seems what you are saying is that at walmart it is full price at $45. Im not sure why showing another place thats alot more expensive would be linked together in this deal.
Who the hell is still doing mail-in-rebates in 2023. Newegg is awful when it comes to these kinda junk. Newegg should just grow the hell up, get rid of all the MIR and have a decent return policy. Otherwise, they will be a goner next year.
Newegg has a good return policy for items sold and shipped by Newegg. But I agree buying from 3rd party vendors can be a crapshoot.
This case is sold and shipped by Newegg FYI.

how to cool those 3.5 hdd in the bottom part?
HDDs often go at the bottom of the case. If you have enough air flowing through the case (e.g., front to back/top, nothing to worry about.

Don't HDDs often go at the bottom of cases? The mechanism you're describing has been standard for a long while. The plastic contact frame probably has rubber gaskets around the pins that hold the HDDs in place to reduce vibration transfer. HDDs can be sensitive to physical socks.

Edit: I see your point now. The comment you were replying to was incorrect. I agree with you on this one.
I understand that HDDs go in the bottom but the issue is that the HDD compartment is separated from the rest of the case with a metal plate. There is no airflow in this area of the case and nothing you can do with the airflow above the metal plate to change it. The PSU is also in the same location however the PSU has its own fan.
I do like the case and don't really care about HDD cooling. I also got my rebate quickly.

Fair point. I hadn't realized they were completely isolated in the PSU compartment and without any fans blowing air at them. I have a case where the HDD bay is located similarly, but the bottom front fan blows air directly on said bay.

I will assume they've tested this case design, and everything worked fine with it, questionable as it may seem.

Looks like this is a phantex brand from the rebate so quality must be decent?
Phanteks were deceptive in a model I bought. They lied and said it's a bigger mid tower case than it was. They're not good at all imo. Corsair.BeQuiet, and as always Antec is way to go.

Which case was that, if I may ask? Just curious.

Hey. If you're in the market check this out.
https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?N=100007583%204814%2050002120%2050014581%2050001516%2050001459%205008569... [newegg.com]

It has Antec, Bequiet, Corsair, Fractal, and NZXT low price to high. I recommend getting a mesh screen. Closed front panels came and went. It was holding too much heat and now they're gone.

Fractal has functional cases from 50 bucks. Cooler looking ones go for 80 or more. After you pick something out check out other retailers to save a few bucks like AMZ or B&H. GL!

Thanks, but I was wondering which case Phanteks had deceptively marketed.

You mean contact with the frame through the plastic caddy? The hdds never touch the frame. Even screws appear to be optional as the caddy clicks the hdd into place.
Sorry I didn't realize you were using 3.5" drives. Most I know use 2.5" SSD's which is what I was referring too:

I have 3 of these cases for my kids gaming PC. One still housing a X99 chipset with a 5960x and a GTX 1080ti and it this case great. I don't however use the drive caddy since I have 2nvme drives with heat sinks on my mobo. Overall, for $30 after rebate, it's a no brainer. My daughter build has a Ryzen 3600x with a GTX 1660 Super and it works great with no heat issues while gaming.

I have the Phanteks version the G300A with a Ryzen 5800x and RTX 3070 and it's a great compact case for a little more money. The mesh front grill blows more cool air in.

Overall, Phanteks has made great products, no issues here. For $30 with a tempered glass panel. You can't beat it.

But with a no name psu and barebones mobo?
in my experience the barebones motherboards are the best one, provided that the VRM is decent with actual cooling. less garbage than can break and turn your PC into a crashing nightmare

as for PSUs, you can get very good quality PSUs for next to nothing these days. i pick up a silverstone, 850W gold rated, fully modular PSU for $60 after coupon/rebate on amazon not too long ago. could have got a 750W bronze module TT PSU for $25 during the same sale.

back in the day you had to spend like $200 to get a good PSU. i remember having to spend about that much on a corsair AX760i over a decade ago. that thing still works by the way. running an RTX 4070 ti on it.

Anything that has a MIR is NOT a deal. You pay FULL price NOW. And then MAYBE you will get some money back in the distant future.
In my experience it has become a crap shoot even if you do everything right on the rebate. I just refuse to participate in rebate deals now. Personally I am happier for it.
