Are you sure the upgrade to PS5 is free? Everything I'm seeing online is that it's a paid upgrade.
Agree. Directly from playstation's page.
"If you own the disc version of Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTOR'S CUT on PS4™ and a PlayStation®5 console with Blu-Ray disc drive, you can use this Upgrade Pass to get the digital version of Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTOR'S CUT on PS5™ for an additional cost."

Definitely isn't free or I'd have done this long ago. If I remember correctly, it is $10. I still haven't played GoT because I can't upgrade a PS4 version for free and I haven't found the PS5 version for the $20ish price yet. Cheapest I've seen it is $29.99 and I refuse to bite at that price. My backlog is too big to justify it.

This game is better than 99.9999999999% of your backlog. I expected a random action game, and ended up getting the Platinum on it. It is a $10 upgrade for the PS5 version and outside of the increased FPS and some more clarity, you can play the PS4 version just fine on the PS5 if you want to keep your cost down. This game was so good, I bought two of my best friends this game as gifts last year and both of them were blown away.
Some of the collecting things can get repetitve if you're going for 100%, but if you don't care about that, the action, the voice acting and story along with the new Island section is Playstation at it's best. It's why people buy a Sony console distilled into one prime example of what they do best. Since I played, they have added a full fledged multiplayer mode in addition to the single player experience if you want to keep going after completing the campaign.
There are even talks or pre-production talk of a movie based on this game coming out, and it will be just as epic I hope.

First and only game I platinumed. It is a great game but going for 100% makes you start hating the game because it because very repetitive.
Been playing this lately on PS+, pretty fun game! Engaging combat, interesting story with solid voice acting, absolutely stunning visually too. I'd recommend it for sure.
