This is also why the black R1280DBs here is such a great value: While R1280T (the cheapest version of these speakers) gets discounted to $84 a few times a year, it has RCA analog inputs only. For mere $23 you are adding 1) Optical AND Coaxial In + 2) Bluetooth + 3) Sub Out with this model. Even if you don't have an immediate need for those features, I'd rather have them than not for $23. The Bluetooth alone is already worth it if you or a visiting friend ever want to stream something from your phone hassle-free.

I have these and love them for my small turntable setup. The BT is solid, so I have Alexa playing through them too.

obviously these don't come with sub but assuming an equivalent sub how do they compare
I am using the Pro Media set hooked up to a Fluance RT81 turntable. They were my pc speakers but I repurposed them for playing records. I'd like to get a second set of speakers to use for playing on the turntable and put the Pro Media back connect to computer for occasional use. WOuld the Edifier's need an emp from the Fluance? I don't need that with the Pro Media would prefer not to have to buy an amp.
