I agree with your assessment. I am inclined to leave a review when I have a negative experience. Having said that, and having worked in a factory before, there are bad runs. I use this one a lot https://chapinmfg.com/collections...es-sprayer[chapinmfg.com]
I've replaced a couple over the years, but I keep buying them because they have been reliable.
I like this one for small jobs using bleaches, the only downside is that it doesn't have a pressure release valve like the other one. Just means you have to be careful when undoing the lid and use PPE. Glasses and nitrile gloves at a min. https://chapinmfg.com/products/ch...ch-sprayer[chapinmfg.com]
Thanks for the input. I wonder if the quality has gone down recently, why they're on clearance, etc. I noticed some differences recently (unpainted stand, crude looking Allen screws), and the pump lever bolt won't hand tighten on some of them. One of mine even has non-matching Allen screws.
Does anyone know if I were to buy it at one store at regular price, and return and rebuy it at another store that has clearance price? Would HD allow that? The distance between 2 stores is about 15 miles apart.

I've heard of people doing that without issue, so I wonder whether that's standard practice.
