About the mini-series:
  • Originally aired as a television mini-series, this all-star filmization of Stephen King's gripping epic of good versus evil chronicles the episodic adventures of a disparate group of people who struggle to reestablish civilization after a man-made catastrophe wipes out most of the world's population. The world abruptly ends when a deadly virus accidentally escapes from a government sponsored biological warfare laboratory. Soon people are dropping like flies from the plague, but a few survive and find themselves strangely compelled to head into the West. Good-hearted people follow the voice of an ancient black woman and head for Boulder, Colorado. Bad people follow the enigmatic Walkin' Dude to Las Vegas. It is only a matter of time before the two sides are forced into a climactic battle over the final fate of humanity.

M-O-O-N spells Moon!
One of the better TV mini-series ever made with really solid acting from most of the cast. BOC's "Don't fear the Reaper" made the opening scene amazing.
you are kidding right? The new one on Paramount is an absolute train wreck.

I didn't include it in the original post, but for those interested: Same price at Target [target.com] when you save the 20% off offer w/ Target Circle (free to join [target.com]) listed on the product page, but it requires a $35 minimum order total to ship.

I just finished this series now that I have P+. Definitely worth <$1 per episode!

If this had digital I'd be in, just to have it.

I considered this the sequel to "Parker Lewis Can't Lose."

I personally preferred this one over the new version. The new version is closer to the book but I like how the older one was in a different order. I also cared a lot more for these characters.

Btw, Storm of the Century was also an excellent made for tv Stephen King.

Man. I had such high hopes for the new one too. I didn't agree with all of the casting, but still, it had a solid cast. The whole thing just felt completely disjointed, and I never really cared what happened to any of the characters.
The original had its issues, but it just worked better on every level.
