I think it's 40 parts of gas to 1 part of oil. So (for ease) if it's 40oz gas then it has 1oz of oil mixed in. Adding 10oz of gas puts it at 50:1

since this is 110 oz total, I think it would mean it's about 97.55oz gas and 2.45oz oil (this gives a 39.8:1 ratio). Keeping the same 2.45oz of oil but having 122.55oz of gas makes it 50:1 so you would add 25oz of ethanol free gas to the existing liquid from the can
If you agree with the youtuber, how do you winterize your 2 stroke engines?

Small engine mechanic A is going to say keep the fuel mixture in the tank and run the engine once a month for 5 to 10 minutes in the brutal cold.

Small engine mechanic B is going to say that is a bad idea because the gasoline ethanol and other detergents will deterotiate the metering diaphragm in the carb. Run the tank dry.

Small engine mechanic A says that it is a bad idea because the metering diaphragm in the carb will actually be destroyed because it will become flaky like a dry leaf come spring.

So what do you do? I buy engieered fuel because it solves all the problems.
You'd be ok running a 40:1 on a 50:1 engine & vice versa

Ethanol exists so the country can do something with all the GMO corn it grows. Gotta keep them subsidies for that useless crop, so gotta find things it can be used for.
Per the FDA's website, in 2020 92% of all the corn planted in the US was GMO corn. Almost all GMO corn ends up in animal feed, processed foods, or drinks in the form of corn syrup.

Please stop spreading misinformation. GMO crops are extremely common, incredibly beneficial as they decrease costs, reduce pollution, save water, help to save animal and plant life that would otherwise be harmed if sprays were used, they help to reduce food insecurities, and have many other positive aspects.

GMO corn is a vital part of our food chain. Either we consume it directly, or we feed it to the animals that we end up eating. The US produces enough corn annually to sell whatever don't use to other parts of the world to feed other populations. I'd say that's enough of a use to be considered useful.

Shows $15.97 for me. I'll keep an eye out to see if it drops.
I checked 3 different stores and they each had different prices. I settled on one a bit farther away (20 mins instead of 5 mins), but I picked up 4 of these for $18.96 (sale price plus 20% off for buying 4), and a grand total (with tax) of $20.81. Pretty fantastic for getting 4 for lower than what 1 was!!

I use nothing be ethanol free fuel in my boat and all my gas lawn equipment. I just buy it at the gas station though. It's way cheaper at the pump, just need a container. It's like $3.50 a gallon at the pump. I don't buy it to save it long term though, as I use it regularly.

In my experience with small engines, I've only ever had a problem overwintering (I'm in Michigan) them when I've kept pump gas in the tank. The ethanol from pump gas absorbs moisture from the air and this can corrode metal carburetor parts, damage rubber seals, and gum up internals of the fuel system. I've since switched to using 100% gasoline (commonly referred to as rec gas or recreational fuel) and have had ZERO problems, especially in 2 stroke systems like leaf blowers, weed eaters, post hole diggers that would normally be difficult to start the next spring. I'm sure I could get away with using pump gas throughout the year and then making sure each tank was recreational fuel before winter, but for as little gas I use each year, 20 gallons max, I don't see the point. I just use rec gas as it's usually $5/gallon when pump gas is about $3.50/gal.
I have similar experience as you with all types of engines but there are scenarios which mixed engineered fuel is the best value. Ethanol free gasoline availability and amount used per year. If I had a choice, I would make my own fuel mixture using ethanol free gasoline, but due to where I live, city ordinance does not allow ethanol free gasoline within x miles of where live. The cost of the drive and setup costs more than this sale. I only have one machine that uses mixed fuel and consume less than one gallon per year, premixed fuel saves me time and less hassle. With several machines and rec gas readily available, it makes no sense to purchase engineered gas. I'm at a point to consider an electric trimmer that will solve the winterizing dilemma.

Well aware that gross GMO crap is used in "food" in the US. Doesn't change the fact that in the USA ethanol is made out of corn.

Reading the second part of this comment more carefully. This is how you know propaganda works well in the US. GMO corn in the US is made the way it is for one purpose. So it can be doused in ridiculously toxic chemicals that kill everything around it but the corn. You are insane if you legitimately believe what you wrote.

You can find ethanol free gas many places. I get 92 octane for $4.50 a gallon. Most 2 cycle oil now comes with stabilizer. Make your own for a fraction of the price. Here is a link to a way to find it near you:

You continue to show your ignorance in your replies. You should do some research on the topic as there is much FACTUAL data out there that directly opposes your regurgitated CNN/MSNBC talking points and your feelings.

LOL did you just link to an undisputed fact in an attempt to provide credibility to your unsupported and outlandish statements on GMO corn? LMAO.

Nobody said ethanol wasn't made from corn in the US. You implied that there is a huge amount of GMO corn that exists to be used solely for ethanol production and this is false. Nearly all is used for animal food or processed foods or corn syrups. You implied that GMO corn is only used in ethanol produtcion, and this is false. Almost none is. You implied that it wasn't used in foods, and this is false. You stated that there needs to be a use found for GMO corn...as if feeding 10's of millions of cattle, hundreds of millions of hogs, chickens, ducks and other poultry, feeding hundreds of millions of people in this country alone before exporting excess to feed other countries weren't enough of a reason for farmers to grow it? I'm not even going to get into the cost savings as you likely won't comprehend any of what I've said so far.

You really are clueless.

Again you show your ignorance by saying that GMO corn is made to be doused with chemicals. Firstly, there are MANY types of GMO corn, not just one. Your small mind truly believes that one is all that is needed for every application.

I should have my brother and father, cousins and uncles, family friends and neighbors all come to you for advice when they're getting ready to put corn in the ground in May. You seem like such a knowledgeable expert, and what do they know? I'll have them all completely disregard generations of experience and knowledge and proven science in favor of your feelings and opinions.

True...nothing grows in the soil but the corn, the glyphosate is in our DNA now.

Tell me you know nothing about glyphosate, without telling me you know nothing about glyphosate.
