Yes, they are not waterproof. I had gotten their spotlights and they looked really nice until the rains started. Water got inside the light and tripped my outlet. Luckily, due to the extended return window, I was able to send it back for a refund.
These are very bright. We run ours at 60% on white, full power on colors. They light our 2 story house perfectly.
I have them installed with waterproof plug boxes and haven't had a problem through rain and snow.

Got a link for the plug boxes

So the water is getting into the connectors causing them to fail not the light itself?
The power supply and controller aren't outdoor rated. The lights should be ok as long as you are careful with them. The lense seal can easily be broken from the housing, which happened to one of my sets. I may add clear silicone around the edge to keep that from happening. For me it's worth it to make these lights last. They are the brightest easiest to control floodlights I've seen. Can also be controlled with Google assistant.

That's sad to hear since I love their indoor lights. Started with one and now we have like 5 different sets

Guys stop posting these, Govee should recall these units, it's not an outdoor light if it getting wet ruins it - been like 3 or so of these threads for this specific light, and it's causing people to buy and then have to return them
Bought these over a year ago (Nov 2022 $60) and before putting them outside I ran some black outdoor gorilla tape along the edges. Absolutely no problems since then. Spend the two bucks to make them more watertight and they will do what you need them to do despite accumulating snowfall and the occasional proper rain.
From a use standpoint do note if you want them to respond to music (dance mode!) your (android, I don't apple) phone needs to be running the app with the screen on, but for any other modes you only need to run the app to select the mode, after that they can be turned on and off entirely with Google (or Alexa I assume.) To Google they are a single unit (for on/off/dimming/simple color choosing) and within the govee app you can specify a different color or brightness for each of the four units if you wish to.

I bought those too, read on the reviews, never opened the box and sent them back too. Looks like Govee has some great items and some duds.

There are a few other Govee outdoor lights available with coupons. You also get 5% off with 2 or more qualifying products. I got these flood lights and 37' ground lights (IP67) for $102.
