Thanks for the heads up! I'm debating whether or not to replace my old Fractal Design Define R3 (first gen) mid-tower ATX case for a new build that I'm considering, as the front only has two USB-A and I believe one external SATA port. Boo to Fractal for charging $15+ for a cable when it should have been included with the case in the first place. Cases with 5.25 optical drive slots are hard to come by these days too.
Welcome. Yes its pretty hard to get the combination of a USB C front/top panel port ( a more modern feature) and a 5.25 bay (which was so common 10 years back but now hard to get). I know a lot of buyers dont care for optical drives but to me a mid tower should have one. So a bit of the past and present at the same time. I would have preferred the optical bay at the top but this is fine. Also i could use the second bay for something else in the future. And yes totally annoying the fractal nickel and diming buyers for the USB connector. It leaves a poor taste about fractal.
I hear ya but on the flip side, you can buy an external dvd writer for about $25 for a LG or Dell. Even less if you're willing to gamble on a Amazon Chinese special.
About a year ago my son ordered this case instead of the smaller version he had intended to order (Pop Mini). When it was delivered I was shocked at how big the case was. I had smaller cases with full ATX motherboards over 10 years ago. I am genuinely curious why anyone would need a case this big today and how they make the room for it. Thankfully Newegg has a much better return policy than days past so no restocking fee was incurred sending it back.
