I just got the TU-3w tuner and immediately started shopping for the DM-2W Delay...then this came up. Instant cop at this price since I can just sell it for 0 loss if I don't like it.
On a related note, if anyone knows of a great deal for DM-2W Delay, new or used, hit me up!
I will never understand why these pedals cost so much. I know it's not nothing but it's also pretty basic.
Hobbies are emotionally driven. I know I can get a 95% sounds-the-same well built clone of a Proco Rat, EHX Big Muff, Boss DS-1, EQD Afterneath, or even an EHX POG clone from a Joyo, Flamma, or Mooer overseas knockoff... But the practicality of "it sounds very close" doesn't make up for the emotional factor.
$90 for a Boss Waza just has a cool factor when it's on your board. On a recording or in a mix no one will care, but the person stepping on the pedal might care how nice it is. Sure it's mostly psychological B.S., but it's still real. That feeling.
Very few people start a hobby saying they have a $500 budget for life, lol. Personally, I bought the cheapest clones for years then slowly replaced them with originals and I love the originals more. Even when comparing original makes to double priced boutiques that improve on the original, I go original. It just looks and feels awesome to step on an actual Big Muff or Rat or DS-1.
To anyone new to pedals, the classic original version can be had for a steal if you buy used. I got mine for $20. It's not exactly the same as the Waza version, but it's pretty close. Also, while this is a really popular pedal, do your homework on YouTube. I much prefer a lot of other classic distortion pedals over this one.

I paid $20 just last week for an early 00's version.. works great. But it does lack the custom mode, which is like an extra half pedal I suppose.

It's a business with an actual support network and product and business longevity. The fact you can buy a current Boss pedal that's an updated model of one from the late 1970's says a lot. Boss has a reputation for making durable, reliable pedals suitable for professional use in live performances, with heavy duty parts rather than merely adequate ones. They don't feel cheap, nor do they sound cheap. They are the cloned not the cloner.

If you aren't hyper focused on that exact sound, and are looking for a deal, just wait for a regular DS-1 deal
