Kingston RAM, not that big of a deal, would prefer Samsung or Hynix
Unknown SSD, this is my biggest concern, no brand ssds, Ive had kingfast, saichi, and a couple of other unknown manufacturers. Immediately pulled and replaced.
Reached out to support to see if this is standard practice by their refurbers, with no reply to the question but did send replacement drives. The replacements were just some other no name drive.
I understand cheapening out, but atleast put in adata or lite-on. Something I can actually find some specs and firmware for.
Yeah on eBay you will find Dell systems often running older samsung ssd drives which is better than random no name drives
Received a computer that did not work.
Dell is just selling junk hoping no will deal with the return hassle.
I received a computer on Thursday that didn't work also. There were two problems: first the HD connector was dead and they didn't tell you that but I eventually got the video to work otherwise. Then I found out that the drive was totally dead. I was supposed to get a 250 GB SSD and instead I got a 500 GB hard drive that had writing on it that clearly indicated that they knew that it was dead and they put it in the computer anyway. I've never had problems like this with Dell but maybe they've turned a corner and are going downhill. We'll see if they'll send me my 250gb SSD that actually has an operating system on it and works.
